Best way to clean dust out of PC?
I have some dust inside my PC and inside the CPU fan (Cooler Master). What is the best way to clean out the dust? I heard dust off canned air works?

Yes compressed air works, don't spray too close to the parts or for too long...it'll start spraying in liquid form. Also hold the can upright vertically, inverting, tilting, or even shaking the can during use may result in the unevaporated liquid being forced through the nozzle instead of the gas. Be sure PC is completely powered off before spraying. If any parts become wet from prolonged spray, either dry the parts manually or let them dry first before attempting to boot up pc.

Thanks! So you know how the cooler master is somewhat big, and it faces down when the case is upright, is it still alright to use canned air on it? Sorry if that didn't make sense haha

you might wanna just take it off the cpu and clean it, then reapply some new thermal paste.

you can take the fan off the cm coolers
no need to remove the heatsink from the cpu

Take the PC outside, open it up, use compressed air to blow out all the dust.

Compressed air, but be warned, don't turn can upside down or on it's side while using. It will push liquid out that can freeze things.

Ones like Hyper212 are very easy actually; just remove the fan; either gently unclip it off; or slide it off. You should be able to slide it on/off quite easily and without removing any RAM. Then you have access to the heatsink area where u can sort of "comb" the access dust build up off with a brush. I keep paint brushes around for such dusting purposes.

Overall, air compression is good with combination of using a brush.

Blowing air out is best solution; either outside or in garage or basement; then vacuum up the mess if need be. Don't use vacuum cleaners inside your PC.

So compressed air won't hurt anything in the computer?
And last but not least becareful with ESD (Electro Static Discharge). It can ruin your PC in a blink of an eye!

You will want to prop the case up so you can get to what you need; as you don't want to tilt the canned air and have the liquid coming out onto your stuff; or your hands.

If you have a ton of dust, canned air won't do the job and it'll just be a waste of money. If u need a couple cans worth, just buy an electric air blower. They aren't expensive.

This ^ and they typically come with brush attachments too.

They provide enough air pressure to act as a mini-leaf-blower; so yes those are really good.
