Driver_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL
So everytime I play any game I get a BSOD that says the normal stuff that one says. But It says

DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL

I have a windows vista
32 bit operating system
4GB of RAM
AMD Anthlon (tm) 64 X2 Dual core proseesor
AMD Radeon HD 6450

I've done malware scans, and the only programs that I have downloaded since it started was things from microsoft.

Can someone help?

sounds like bad or out of date driver or bad hardware.
UnderDog Oct 25, 2015 @ 6:27pm
would they be graphic drivers?

this started happening earlier this week and I haven't changed any hardware recently.

Time for a quick boot disk memtest.

http://www.memtest.org/#downiso

http://www.resplendence.com/downloads

And ^ take a quick look at the dump file with whocrashed.

turn off pc.
if you know how, remove memory modules and clean the tips with soft eraser and soft paper.
after cleaning, reinsert the memory modules at the slots.
turn on pc and see what happens.

That is usually a RAM issue, so I would run Diagnostics tests/software on those.
Driver issues can also appear to be faulty RAM too, so it can be hard to speculate that until you run such tests.

Without downloading anything extra ATM, Microsoft has built-in Memory Diagnostics:
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-vista/how-do-i-know-if-my-computer-has-a-memory-problem

Run that see how it does. If you can't boot to Normal/Safe Mode Windows OS; then rather then pressing F8 key on bootup; press SpaceBar; then you should see a screen with OS Name at top and Memory Diagnostics down below; then press Tab key to switch to Memory Diagnostics and boot to that. If testing comes up clean, try other well-known Memory Test Apps; such as MemTest.org

So, you scanned with memtest boot cd? Where did whocrashed point you? Are you overclocking your cpu?

If by chance it is your gpu drivers, uninstall them, boot to safe mode, remove remnants of gpu drivers with driversweeper or latest version, boot back into win reg mode and install new latest catalyst.

post a cpuz validation link
http://www.cpuid.com/softwares/cpu-z.html
cpuz -> validate button -> submit button
it will open a browser, copy the url (address) and paste it here

most likely unstable overclock or poor cpu/sb cooling

your running 4 dimms, it may need a ram voltage bump

try setting it to 1.8v

its also a very old build, try cleaning it with compressed air or an aircompressor

ok. Thanks.

in my experience with that blue screen it could be a misaligned RAM stick or a bad RAM stick.
UnderDog Oct 26, 2015 @ 7:34pm
I am updating all my drivers I'll check the RAM.

On the ram 1.8v is default on ddr2.

And like CJ not equal has always turned out to be a ram stick dying or dead causing bsod.

If you get the odd stack error bsod it'll be the mobo packing it in slowly more than likely.

I still believe you should run memtest 86 at least 1 pass from the cd drive at boot it'll normally pick up errors fairly quick if it is your ram.
