This occurs due to the UAC popping up
I repeat, until yesterday morning I didn't have this problem... since yesterday afternoon I'm unable to use my cursor in games like Dying Light,Life is Strange ... strange in some games like Arma II and all Valve games it still works fine. In games like League of Legends it tracks my cursor position but wont' react to clicks.
And additionally, I do not browse illegalm websites neither adult entertainment websites with this PC. Only Steam, Gmail and Youtube... so I doubt that it would be a virus.
Do u have any 3rd party mouse driver or software installed for mice? Try uninstall those.
Some games DO NOT like 3rd Party mouse software.
Neither the software from the mouse (Kensington Trackball Works) nor the games itself updated in the time... it must be related to windows as it autoupdates because when something does not change, it should not change.
I connected my Logitech wireless keyboard with touchpad to check if the touchpad works (worked), to do so I disconected a 8-10 years old keyboard. Touchpad worked... and then I tested the trackball again.... works now too... for the moment. Any idea what is causing this problem?
AWESOME! :|
And if u get "input lagg" sometimes this can happen due to various USB / Chipset devices sharing resources; simply try the mouse on another USB port.
EDIT:
To see if it is somehow due to Windows Defender; click that icon; or open it another way; such as Settings > Updates and Security > Defender > Launch/Change Settings; then in Defender's settings, try temp disable "Realtime Scanning Protection" and apply. If the mouse or other things still having issues; then it's not due to Defender.
