CCC says Freesync working, monitor says no...
Ok, just bought a Acer XR341CK Freesync capable monitor, hooked it up to my r9 295x2 GPU. I mmediatley got a prompt from catalyst control center to enable freesync. Did so. No problem.

Then in the monitor's OSD window, it says it is running in "normal" and not freesync mode. Connection is double min-port on both sides.

Any idea what the !@#$ is going on here? This monitor, among other things prominently featured Freesync among it's feature set.

Alternatively, is there some utility that can test if Freesync is activated?

Thanks much y'all!

After Free-Sync Enabled in OS; try rebooting and/or re-cycle the Monitor Power.

No luck. Just mystified with this. Ran AMD Windmill demo--- confirmed, no Freesync.

What do you mean by double mini-port on both sides? If you have two mini-displayport cables connected to the same monitor then remove one and use just one cable, just because the R9 295x2 is dual-GPU card doesnt mean it would need two cables to connect into single monitor.

I just mean I'm using a cable with two male min-port ends. Wish it were that easy, but thanks for weighing in!!! Again the (single cable) is working fine in every way. The problem is simply that Freesync will not activate on my monitor. I've since run the AMD Windmill Demo, which confirms that whatever CCC says, the Freesync is not active nor acitvatable.

What AMD Driver version and OS?
Try a fully AMD Catalyst Uninstall and then try a different driver version via a clean install.

Also, for testing, try another cable, such as HDMI.

Hey, I'm having the same exact problem with a replacement monitor I got from Amazon. This is my second one. Any luck?

Anyone ever get this to work? I have the same monitor and the same problem. I have no idea how to enable freesync.

This is quite old, but if you are still having troubles, please review the following:
