Your best pick would be "Acer Predator XB270HU V2" as it's IPS panel, giving sharper, more vibrant colours - with little to no performance lost (4ms response time).
ROG SWIFT PG278Q is great too, but TN panel. TN panels tend to be faster (1ms response, if a gaming high-end monitor), but they are a tad duller colour range.
BenQ XL2420G resolution is only 1080p (1920x1080) and also TN panel - It's a great pick too, don't get me wrong. Just approx 60% less pixels, but would give a higher FPS. However, the GTX 980 doesn't really start to shine and show off it's full beast mode, till it gets to the 1440p resolution sweet spot. If I was you, looking to upgrade monitors, I would personally save up for the "Acer Predator XB270HU V2" and then drool in hardcore gaming, while being nicely future proofed too (add SLI later on in the future for example, not that you would need it to perform).
Monitor size 24 inches or lower = Best for 1080p resolution
Monitor size 27 inches to 32 inches = Best for 1440p resolution
That BenQ XL2420G you selected is probably the best pick of any I could find, really nice for gaming purposes! You could always use DSR (Dynamic Super Resolution) via Geforce Experience on some of the games which support it if you have FPS to spare.
i have played on a IPS before before i bought this monitor. but i play allot of first person games. so i decided to sell my IPS and get this monitor instead. don't expect the same vibrant look as a IPS. but it still looks good to watch at. just try to play around with the settings, and you should be fine. also 144hz is a big difference vs 60hz. everything looks so much smoother, and its also allot easier for the eyes. and G-sync is amazing too. meaning if the fps drops below 60 fps, it still feels smooth.
in terms of colors. i'd probably give it a 7/10. its good but vs IPS its always going to lack. but TN does have better response time.
For example:
Asus ROG Swift (TN Panel) on the left.
Acer Predator XB270HU (IPS Panel) on the right.

TN Panels = Faster response rate, slightly duller colours, and less viewing angle. Use to be the best option for gaming upon and some people will still perfer them.
IPS Panels = Brighter colours and more viewing angle. Slightly slower response time (4ms, use to be 8ms, etc). Was better for art and design, not so much gaming purposes (but now a few have faster performance making them excellent but more expensive for gaming upon).
probably around 2 years, until we see them at a lower price. however the regular the 60hz IPS monitor have already dropped in price in the last few years.
roger that. yeah i had that too with my IPS screen. but now its tear free, which is night and day, i 'd probably can't go back to 60hz anymore :P
