Peripherals shut off but PC stays on.
At random times my monitor and peripherals will lose power but my PC will still be on, lights and fans still running. Monitor goes black, headset, keyboard and mouse just stop working. Force shutting down the pc from holding the power button doesn't work and I have to flip the PSU switch off and on to restart it. I had this issue a couple months ago and I checked a bunch of connections and dusted out my PC. I'm not exactly sure what fixed the issue at the time but it was doing fine after that and stopped doing it for a couple months, but now it's doing it again.

Anybody know what the issue could be? I'm leaning towards my power supply going bad.

Sounds more like a failing Motherboard to be honest.

Hard to know until it's checked out by a professional. Like in a PC Repair Shop where one could swap out parts to better narrow down the culprit.

Do you have a spare PSU to try though?

I do not have a spare PSU. I had the motherboard for about 2-3 years too, it wouldn't fail that quickly would it?

Anything can fail at any time. Doesn't matter the age or how it was used.

Or the USB port and/or cord doesn't support the right amperage.

Both when playing games and browsing.

Edit: I think when I say random I believe I mean the time period between the shut offs doesn't seem to be consistent. Like I can play games and browse just fine for some days before it does it and sometimes it happens soon after restarting the pc after it occurs.

really hard to guess, because even same symtom could be a different problem , but for me : turn off hybird mode PSU, fix my problem

-Really outdated bios
-Failing drive
-Failing mobo
-Some kind of power surge problem. Try a different outlet with a new surge protector. Sometimes wall outlets just give out.

Idk, that seems to be what I would consider the possibilities. I've had all of them happen to me.

Also make sure eco mode is not on your psu

If your monitor also lose power, then the problem is on your electricity. Monitor doesnt draw power from your pc

Most new age tech has "home control" if the GPU stops sending signal it will standby mode/power off lead comes on.

However:

If the monitor powers off/standby instantly then you have electrical issues not tied to the PC, bad surge protector your using maybe.

why even we need surge protector, your PSU have already Stabilizer, but go find a tester to see how much power your Electricity Socket have , if its a power surge all electronic in your house already whacky

It's just a common figure of speech. Don't plug nothing directly into the wall when it's your more sensitive PC or Audio equipment; use a Power Strip
it basically means that you run out of resources. usually that means that the software leaks the cpu dry. it happened to me a lot.
