Even cheap boards from MSI should have the post test leds on them and if it stops dead of the cpu led then yea its probably a dead cpu.
However a dead cpu is very rare and in most scenarios it's actually the Motherboard or something else. Like perhaps a bent pin in the socket or bad / unstable bios settings
I have the EZ Debug LED's but I want codes.
Well it happened out of the blue and the mobo still receives power. But I get a bad CPU light and if you get a bad CPU light you are guranteed to get a bad RAM light. So it could still be either. Regardless I am displeased.
I shall get a MSI PRO A620M-E to test perhaps.
but if it has no display, or using cpu with no igpu, or onboard leds it can be hard to troubleshoot
It sadly wont give display. I was unaware of this though, interesting my board certainly should its an msi x670 pro.
Regardless the cause of my woes, might have been knocking a cap out of place with the GPU bracket like a goober.
You will need
TL631 Motherboard PCIE Diagnostic Card Kit
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Motherboard-Diagnostic-Analyzer-Adapter-Compatible/dp/B0DF6MNSPX
That would definitely do it. Knocking a capacitor.
Actually cap is fine. There was no issue. The trouble was power delivery from the house. Moved to basement no issues lol.
