My pc is unusable
(This all started from downloading bo3 on steam). My pc is unusable

So basically I got bo3 and everything was fine for about a week until i hoped on yesterday night and realized i couldn’t connect to the online servers. Then i started to realize if i was on the game for to long my whole computer would just blue screen. On top of that if i closed the game my whole computer would like stop working and eventually blue screen unless i forced shut it down because restarting and shutting down wouldn’t work it would jsut stick on the screen of it shutting down or restarting. Then i tried other games (on steam) and the same thing was happening everytime i closed the game after a couple seconds to a minute it would just basically freeze my PC and i would have to force shut it down. Then i tried a game on the epic games launcher to make sure it wasn’t a steam problem and same thing. I tried to do a deep scan with the Microsoft virus protection and it would just pause and not move near the end so i tried Bitdefender to see if there was viruses and nothing. The weird thing was the microsoft one would just pause at a certain time. Then i tried going back to a restore point 7 days ago and it kept giving me an error and didn’t allow me too. It basically says

“System Restore did not complete successfully. Your computer's system files and settings were not changed.
Details:
System Restore failed to extract the original copy of the directory from the restore point.
Source: %ProgramFiles% WindowsApps
Destination: AppxStaging
An unspecified error occurred during System Restore. (0x8007045b)
VE..
You can try System Restore again and choose a different restore point. If you continue to see this error, you can try an advanced recovery method.”

I also deleted bo3 because that’s when the problem basically started i also reset my bios taking out the CMOS battery and putting it back in and i also took the Rams out and put them back in because my PC would just freeze in like a minute after closing a game and i thought it could maybe be a ram issue. i’m at the point where it seems like i have to reset the PC completely and clean it but i really wanan see if there’s anything else i can try before having to reset it so if there’s any suggestions or help i would appreciate it. i’ve been at it for the last 2 days and nothing ive tried seemed to work. I think it may be a virus but i really do not know. My pc works perfectly fine until i open a game and close it. If you are concerned about my specs or problems with them i can almost assure you it isn’t anything to do with my GPU, CPU ect. If you want my specific specs ill put them below

CPU: Ryzen 7 3700x
GPU EVGA 3060ti
Ram: 16gb

Feel free to ask me any questions i will try my best to reply as fast as possible and i will really appreciate it if anyone has any suggestions because hard resetting my PC is my last resort. If anyone is also interested in going on a call with me if you have a lot of experience and need to see more i am open to it. Thank you.

Have you run Memory Diagnostics ?

Have you checked the Health of each drive ?

Ran CHKDSK /F / R on each Drive parition ?

Ran SFC /SCANNOW ?

When is the last time you did a clean OS install or latest available OS build ?

When you install a game, are you taking the time to do the Repair/Verify option ? So that all game files are verified to avoid problems.

post a cpuz validation link
http://www.cpuid.com/softwares/cpu-z.html
cpuz -> validate button -> submit button
it will open a browser, copy the url (address) and paste it here
It sounds like you're having a hardware issue. Resetting the PC isn't gonna do anything if that's the case.

Start by testing your memory.

That's where actually trouble-shooting comes into play. Maybe you should learn about doing that. Saving up money for a new PC isn't the answer and it's not something most people can just up and do when something is wrong.

Learn proper troubleshooting; it's not that hard.
It can take time, yes. It can be frustrating at times, yes.
Can't comment on the potential hardware issue but as no one has suggested it. Uninstall any antivirus software you have before running a system restore point. I know Bitdefender always caused the same system restore point issue.
this suggests a harddrive error. i suggest returning it to the store to get them to fix it for you. if you still have warranty it will not cost you.
Could be faulty RAM, corrupted or faulty Drive. Or just the game needs to be verified, which I see so many users never doing.
I just want to make it clear that all my game files were verified and everything it’s not just one game it’s every game i open and close no matter the launcher, game ect. It can be a game as small as geometry dash or as big as COD same result. When i get home ill try everything you guys suggested and will give more information that was asked thank you for everyone trying to help.
Can easily be a corrupted OS user. It happens more often then people realize. There are the many times when people went and reformatted and/or did a clean OS install instead of first trying another user account on the system to see if that right there was the issue all along.

Try making another local user account in your OS with admin privileges. Then run Steam and launch a game and see how it does.

i will try this but if this is the issue how can i resolve it on my account?
I think because it's every game you have some kind of hardware failure. What caused it is anyone's guess but at this point I don't think a reset will help you much.

You definitely need to start diagnosing your hardware piece by piece. I always start with RAM because it's the cheapest to replace (starts at like, $25 on the cheaper end) and (in my experience) it's usually the culprit.

Also check your actual physically moving hardware, like cooling systems, etc, make sure they're working properly.

EDIT: As a side note, some of Windows (if you're using Windows) self "diagnostic" tools are kinda crap. When my RAM went last time, Windows self diagnostic for the RAM said it was fine. An actual BOOT from USB program specifically designed for memory testing determined it was actually the problem.

Make sure you check your crash logs too, it'll give you a good idea of what's causing the PC to crash.

That whole RCE exploit business was enough to keep me from running their stuff.

it usually happens when i open a game and close it myself if you give it a minute my whole computer will just freeze and i can’t do anything, nothing will load and i can’t hear or do anything.
How long do you wait? It could indicate an issue with a drive.
