SSD Heatsink temps?
My pc has been not running for a while, and after being in transit for repairs for weeks everything finally works. However my OS seems to be on another Slot on the motherboard without heatsink.. No big deal. So my own installed SSD is now on slot 1 with the original heatsink. This is the SSD i use to put my games on. the other SSD has the OS. Windows say both SSD's are 45C
How hot can they become before its get dangerous? Do i need a heatsink. After those PC problems i am not keen to migrate the OS to another SSD with heatsink, and don't want to send it for repairs for something small.
So is it okay to have it without heatsink?

estimated life is:99%
reserve: 100%
temps: 45C
but it isn't summer anymore.

You'll know when to hot because it will lock up the system or the drive getting disconnected until system gets rebooted. Usually they fine til around 75-80*C +

Not like a HDD which should never go above 55-60

but i asume its not ideal if its often 70C? (lifespan)
Like some other hardware, it should throttle before it gets disastrously hot. I'm not sure if all drives will though. Unless you're doing something that really stresses a drive though (games generally do not), then it's unlikely to heat up to that point to begin with, but some drives may.
M.2 SSDs often have a maximum operating temperature between 70 to 85 degrees, you're fine.
