Alienware Monitor query
So I just bought a brand new Alienware OLED Monitor (AW2725DF) off Marketplace. Upon opening the box last night there was only a 2 pin plug inside the box, no UK one and no adaptor. I then bought the first kettle plug power cable I saw on Amazon that was next day delivery, but upon using it this afternoon the Monitor isn't powering up.

I have just noticed that the 2 pin power cable inside the box is 10A 250V, and the one I bought is 5A 250V. Does this matter? Could it be a reason it's not powering up and I have to purchase a 10A power cable? Cheers in advance!

Tips for keeping it in tip top shape:

Put nothing on your desktop background. just make it #000000. No icons

Refresh the display when it prompts and also right before you turn it off.

Keep brightness low for casual use. It doesn't need to be super bright

If you accidentally selected "do not show this again' when trying to get rid of the pop up, you can bring it back up by hitting the bottom middle button, pushing upward, then find oled panel maintenance.

Just letting you know there is also a required maintenance every 1000 hours. It will be longer than the typical 6 mins. Such as, fourty or fifty minutes.

When the light turns off on the button, means it's done

I would say this is be so about the 10amp but I am not that great with electricity but from what I gather with fuses for micro circuits is that if you go under the amperage the fuse will not work but if you go over the rated amperage, the fuse will blow.

You might want a 10A cord, but I think the 5A should still work.

look its info sticker, make sure it says its for 110 and 220v

a monitor should not need 10a @220v, thats 2200w, even 5a is 1100w
the oled monitor should be <50w, or <150w for all white display
1a cable @220v is more than enough

The good thing is that if you are an Amazon Prime member you can get free returns and exchanges.
Christ. I was pressing the button in the middle to turn it on, which I knew was also to control the menu. Turns out after watching an unboxing video it has a power button on the right hand side I had no idea about. What a numpty I am!

P.S, cheers for the replies!

It is always the simplest solution.

I take it you missed the silver button on the bottom right of the monitor???.....hehe......well at least it works.....:steamhappy:.....oh and if you have a 3 pin cable laying around it will work with the monitor....its the standard socket on the monitor itself....

Yeah, still really don't know how haha. I was pretty flustered in that moment over something else... not really an excuse, but it's what I'm telling myself and using regardless!

Thanks for the tips, much appreciated! I only play in short 1 hour bursts here and there and won't be using it for anything else, so it should be fine. Really liking it so far - Though I do wish it was 4K and not 1440p. As someone who has always used 4K Monitors in the past, I definitely notice the difference between the two.
