5G and gaming?
Shouldn't the latest wireless technology work decently well for games? Yet i have problems particularly in one game called RE:Verse. (i am asking here because frankly it is more hardware related then software). Anyone else use a 5G router for gaming?

4G is enough for Gaming. Not to say that 3G would also work.

Are you saying the game code or peer to peer hosting is at fault then?

I don't see the Internet speed as the cause of the problem, because the games use very little bandwidth from what 5G and 4G offer as speeds. I don't rule out that it could be an internet related problem, but not in this regard.

What about latency and stability? I do not have the outdoors router but indoors with no antenna.

Still the data have to travel from the operator's cell tower to the servers.
And when it comes to stability, both are wireless. You can't have perfect stability.

Is it a dedicated 5G ISP gateway or are you relying on tethering/hotspot from a Phone/Tablet?

5G is more then enough for gaming, but without knowing what his network situation is or how saturated the environment it's impossible to tell what the issue is, especially seeing as it only happens in one game.

But yeah at the end of the day cabled will always be superiour compared to WIFI.

Dedicated router. With possibility of connection with cable to the PC from router.
I'm using at&t air-fi. And my kids has no problems on the 5g network. Only problem is my ip bounces all over the usa. One day it will be in Texas and the next in little rock Arkansas. Very rarely do I get an ip that is in my state of Maryland.

anything is going to have a signal meter some where in the software....putting up a outside antenna with a wire run inside to do the cell side of the equation will help a ton here.....many devices like jetpacks have external antenna connections....

just be warned....you will need the right type of antenna for your country and region.....but putting up a real outdoor antenna even for a cell phone you want to tether will help with random ping spikes as you will have better signal not stop for 2 seconds as a car passes your home......

Anyway guys i found out the problem is my connection/router. I will have fibre soon so the problem will disappear within one month, approximately. I did try to play the RE:Verse game at my parents who have fibre and it worked flawlessly for several games, not a single disconnect. Even my brother who has a 4G router could play more stable then me at home.
