Windows 11 for reduced price?
I was thinking about updating my comp, Any legit sites selling preferably on Disk for under the 125? I checked a few places and they were like 125, i could swear i saw some site selling them for like 50 or was it 75, i forget. I don't recall where, Might of been newegg. Maybe the lower prices are only on a stick? Call me old school but i prefer stuff on disk, unless i can get a killer deal on a stick.

thoughts?

In my search i noticed crucial giving away a copy of Starwars outlaw's with the purchase of a new SSD, NVE 5's 1TB plus the game for 150 which is a pretty solid deal if your in the market for one. That's tempting too, adding a faster boot to win 11, and i could swap it to my next build down the road. :)

The deal for the stick is zero dollars. Killer deal if you ask me.

"helpful downloads" used them for the last 4 windows keys i bought cheap and 100% legit
highly recommend win11 pro..no need for anything other than a key you can install to a thumb drive if you really find in necessary.

had someone pay it for me just because i switched hardware 2 times and pressed to activate it on the new hardware and it seems like it can be used only twice before it stops

Pay for what? If the PC had Win10, then Win11 is completely free via the Win10 key.

And besides you can always use it freely unactivated anyways.

Doesn't matter how many times you changed hardware because you can always call MS and prove your legit license and have them activate it anyways. If you run into such a problem you tell MS the Motherboard died and you had no choice but to replace it. Simple

Don't pay for Windows if:

1. You are a student
2. You are a nonprofit employee
3. You are a security researcher or want to be one

In all three of these scenarios, it's likely you can get it for free. If you are a computer science student you can also get the builds that are NOT public depending on who you are and your IT department.

First, I'd rather not deal with shady key resellers or O.E.M. licenses and just buy the legit retail version that comes with a reusable license. It should pay itself off over the course of multiple installations

Second, it doesn't even sound like you need a new key if you're just upgrading the drive in your existing system. Just write down the old one and reuse it. It might even be tied to your motherboard if it was an O.E.M. key.

Plus you know, there's always the option of using the S.S.D. as a secondary or backup drive. If you don't have a spare m.2 on your drive, they make m.2 to P.C.I.E. risers.

I wasn't looking for a key reseller, I was looking for an actual disk. I know i saw some cheap a while back but i forget where it was.

That said, i was looking into things and win 12 sounds like it's just around the corner, so perhaps i will just grab that instead. I have multiple comps, and one is going off line, and a new one is around the corner.

The thing was before you had to install the old OS, then upgrade, but perhaps i can just grab 11 and install it strait now. If that's the case i may do that. I just want to do a refresh on the system as it's been 4 years.

Download the ISO from Microsoft then burn it to a disk with an ISO burner such as CDBurnerXP (despite the name it's a current app and works on Win10 and 11).

Windows isn't worth paying for, period, it can be downloaded and installed for free. Linux distros are also free but better than Windows as well.
You don't have to activate windows 11. Just install it and where it asks for the cd key during setup click "skip" then install it normally and use it that way forever. Nothing bad will ever happen. You don't have to pay for windows.
