What a scam :D
Digital is better anyway because physically taking discs in and out is annoying. That's now a thing of the past.
Also, the only thing that interests me about console is the fact that you can still own a game on physical media. Sure, you can buy the disc drive accessory to add to the Playstation 5, but those types of accessories have only rarely enjoyed any amount of success on console.
It's not the 1990s anymore. Consoles are not much simpler to use than say Android devices at this point, and haven't been ever since the 7th generation of consoles. so I don't really see that as being a valid justification for buying a console even for somebody of that mindset, especially since the technically inept people probably don't care much about how powerful the hardware is as much as whether or not it can play the latest games. Physical media is the differentiator between console and P.C., so I just can't endorse a console which drops it.
Plus $700 is just about the point where you can buy an entry level pre-built gaming P.C.[www.amazon.com] It might not be a powerful pre-built gaming P.C but a gaming P.C. is going to be an overall more versatile device that isn't locked down.
And those of us here? I'm balking at the notion of spending $700 on what effectively looks like a G.P.U. upgrade that comes with a whole bunch of other unnecessary baggage isn't too appealing.
Those of us interested in dropping that kind of money on a G.P.U. upgrade probably either bought the 4070 ti when it was on clearance, or put a 7900 G.R.E./4070 Super into our systems already for just $600, and are already enjoying a system that'll kick the pants off of the Playstation 5 pro.
However, instead of getting a general uplift in performance for all of their games, because computer games with ultra settings are built to be somewhat future-proofed against the average system, they might only see an uplift in a select few games that are going to release after the pro since most playstation games are built only to accomodate the base spec. model.
Maybe if it had a built in-disc drive and we could expect a general uplift in performance from all of the existing Playstation 5 games, I could understand it a bit better. I mean, I still wouldn't think it was a particularly compelling product, but as things stand? Nah.

It is the same thing with the normal version.
Better = Subjective. Disc version means I can lend my games to friends and family and borrow games from them. If I've purchased a game I didn#t really get on with I can stop plaqying and sell it to recover some of what I paid. Not like I can get a refund on console games when purchased digitally.
For the cost and no version with an included drive = a pass from me.
I am still salty that Bloodborne never got a PS4 Pro upgrade or PC release.
I'm a patient man, I'll wait for the PC release of Stellar Blade, then I'd be able to run it with all the bells and whistles.
