Samsung Phone overly touch sensitive?
Got a smart phone a while ago.
Put on a screen protector and it seemed a little hard to trigger so I increased the touch sensitivity setting.

A couple of days ago the phone was going nuts, I thought it might be hacked or virus.
Trying to use the scroll would open things.
Just hovering my finger over an email would open it.

I had to go in and turn the sensitivity down to default and it seems to be working normally again.

Anyone else with a Samsung notice this recently? It's a 15, not sure if the OSs are the same per version, new to smartphones.

My Galaxy note 20 ultra has this issue too kind of from what im reading here. Make sure you clean the screen often, and make sure the screen protector isnt temporal glass shatter (i.e you can crack the screen protector) because my note 20 ultra was Unusable with those things. I had to buy a small film screen protector which unfortunately sacrifices durability for the screen, due to samsung not optimizing their new phones with better screen protectors.

Confuses me because i remember not having this issue with my Note 8.

I got the heavier screen protector, it seemed fine with the touch sensitivity toggled on to the higher setting.

It just seemed like the setting went into overdrive or re-calibrated itself? I didn't get an update before it happened.

I got a phone update a couple of weeks ago but the change was just a couple of days ago.
I'm just happy I was able to get it back to normal turning off the extra sensitivity.

It was almost impossible to use.
As neat as it was to operate it without touching it at all, it made for very erratic use.

Does that system re-calibrate itself over time?

You can test the screen calibration if you got to that samsung app the diagnoses your phone with tests. Forgot what it was called.

its useful if you bought the phone used. Or just got it recently repaired

I got it brand new in the middle of summer.
Never used that app, thanks. I'll have to look into it.
The setting I used was in
Settings
Display - under the accidental touch protection toggle

Keep the screen and fingers clean also. Having oil smudge build up or getting even a tiny amount of water or other liquid on the screen can easily result in accident clicking / touch
