Forcing Dedicated GPU vs Forcing Integrated Graphics
I just bought a brand new Gaming Laptop with an RTX 4070, It also contains an AMD Ryzen 7 with its own integrated graphics

Using the Nvidia Control Panel. I plan to force the Dedicated GPU for Graphically Intense Games, and force integrated graphics for lightweight Games and Apps. Is this a good idea? is there really a difference in doing this,
Does it affect Battery Life, Power Usage and fan noise if a lightweight title uses the Integrated Graphics vs the Dedicated One (also afraid that some really old titles will have issues if it uses the Dedicated GPU)

You certainly don't need, or want, the power hungry 4070 to draw office rectangles on the screen, or play YT vids. The IGP is more than capable for that. But again, the system should know to switch over to the IGP when there's no game to display.

On my old Computer i had some issues where some Demanding Games would use the Integrated Graphics instead of the Dedicated One by default, Which resulted in terrible performance. Configuring individual titles in Nvidia Control Panel to use a select Graphics Processor resolves it.

only if its a laptop

else a dedicated gpu with display plugged into it will always use the dedicated gpu

the intel/amd igpu are fine for desktop and video tasks, but games should be using the dedicated gpu
