With the latest version of Proton, modern hardware with full Vulkan support and an up-to-date system the game should just work.
Make sure you are using the latest version of Proton and not an older one. You can set the default Proton version in `Steam (Top left of Steam client) > Settings > SteamPlay`.
If you are running an older LTS version of Ubuntu updated it to the latest version.
Origin will act stupid and buggy under WINE, just retry it when it gives issues. You can remove the WINE prefix to try again with a clean "Windows install". For Battelfront II it is located at ~/.steam/steam/steamapps/compatdata/1237950
When launching Battlefront II it should first launch Origin and then Origin will launch the game for you.
Or do you mean the fake one?
He means the fake one.
