You install windows 10. Just kidding, hopefully are friendly neighbourhood Linux expert omega comes along and helps you out. I suggest you shorten the title and maybe put (Linux) at the start of it.

Protondb reports are overall positive;
https://www.protondb.com/app/1237950

With the latest version of Proton, modern hardware with full Vulkan support and an up-to-date system the game should just work.

Make sure you are using the latest version of Proton and not an older one. You can set the default Proton version in `Steam (Top left of Steam client) > Settings > SteamPlay`.

If you are running an older LTS version of Ubuntu updated it to the latest version.

Origin will act stupid and buggy under WINE, just retry it when it gives issues. You can remove the WINE prefix to try again with a clean "Windows install". For Battelfront II it is located at ~/.steam/steam/steamapps/compatdata/1237950

When launching Battlefront II it should first launch Origin and then Origin will launch the game for you.

Is Battlefront 2 even on Origin?

Or do you mean the fake one?

I just read the patch notes for Proton-6.8-GE-2 and it's maintainer GloriousEggroll seems to be similar minded on Origin as I am.

Origin is about as stable as trying to piss in the wind while drunk at 3 am. When running a new Origin game and creating the prefix, you may need to run it a few times/clear the prefix/clear your steam downloads cache. It may also crash when trying to launch the game, may take a few attempts.

You would do better to ask on the linux and this games forum then general.
