Good Wireless Controller
Friend of mine is on a tight budget right now and wanted to ask me this and I wasn't sure, so I figured I'd ask you all what you think.

> Good controller for Steam/Origin/Uplay/Rockstar PC stuff.
> Hoping to have something that is Wireless via BT, but supports Wired USB as option.
> The purpose of use is Wired via PC and Wireless BT via Samsung Galaxy S20 FE.
> As cheap as possible without being total garbage that dies in a short time.
> And seriously, no China clone junk.

Most of what I looked at on Amazon is either out of stock or had some kind of price increase in the last year or so. Even the XBOX CORE Controller is hard to find without it being dam near $80 or more in many places. Online retailers are raising prices just because... total BS if ask me.

reliable and cheap dont normally come in the same package.

ive always used PS4 controllers because they hardly ever have issues, but i imagine Xbox controllers are just as good.

ive heard this controller is good but you sacrifice wireless

x360 wired, or ds3/ds4

It needs to be able to do Wired + Wireless BT
Steam Controller might interest you. Sometimes they go on sale for $5. It's a down-right steal if you ask me. It has Bluetooth support after a single firmware update. You can configure any way you want and it works for every single game; just add your origin or uplay title as a 'non-steam game' and that's it!
The only thing i haven't figured out yet is using the steam controller with windows store apps. Everything else it works.

I don't have one yet so I can't speak from personal experience, but what about the 8BitDo Pro 2?

It has favorable reviews and is compatible with PC and Android.

^ agree 8bitDo Pro 2 is probably the best bet now that they added the paddle buttons on the bottom - literally does it all for $50 and better quality IMO

Seems like he really wants a great controller for lowball price. To have both bluetooth and usb as well as durability and functionality, $60 -80 sounds about right. Actual ps4 controller is $65

I got my dual shock 4 and 5 controllers off of the local classified. Used. They work perfectly fine, connect via USB or bluetooth. Simple.

OK I never actually used a 8bitDo Pro 2 before, I'll look into it. Thanks.

Well I have plenty of PS4 and PS5 controller around here but he wanted something that has the XBOX buttons on it. To which, isn't too hard to find these days, even if you do prefer the DS controller layout, as you can find 3rd party controllers that have the DS physical layout, but with proper XBOX buttons on it.

They do not go on sale on Steam as they sold out their stock long ago.
You'll find them online for outrageous prices. They are good for many games, but not as good as the other two for most games. They're great in FPS/shooters and flying/driving games.

Steam Controller is my favorite controller. But it's not going to work for someone who wants to play games on their phone.

8bitdo, Logitech and Steelseries are the best PC gamer controllers.

Steam Controller is an interesting novelty.

Xbox controller is trash and no self-respecting PC gamer uses it, no matter how hard Microsoft tries to push it as the default for PC as well as console.

I really wish 8bitdo or someone would make a USB replica of the original Gravis Gamepad, complete with the screw-in joystick.

SteelSeries Stratus Duo.

Thanx everyone for suggestions.

He's getting an 8BITDO Pro 2. Not bad for $40 (on-sale)
And it's one of the most customizable controllers for that low price range I've ever seen.
