There should be software installed that controls it, try turning it off from there.
I don't see any use of keyboard backlight unless i type with absolute no light which i generally dont
for weeks lol
The laptop when on idle wouldnt run that long
the display backlight leds are aroudnd 10-20w
turning down the backlight make a bigger difference on saving the battery
or even setting cpu power save modes when running on battery
Ryzen 5 3550H is 15-35w
I find them cool on individual keyboard but not on laptops
Sager, Lenovo, Alienware. They allow to turn off the backlighting via the Fn+Combo Key without any need for any software.
