New Android phone dilemma
I've been doing yesterday some research for a good mid range phone and I've narrowed it down to 2 Samsung and 2 Xiaomi models

- Galaxy A52 5G
- Galaxy S20FE
- Mi 10T Pro 5G
- Poco F3

My priotities are mainly on performance, however a decent operating software and overall reliability is also pretty important, so I would like to hear your thoughts.

I only have the A52 5G but it's great. Decent system performance, good battery life, 3.5mm jack which i very much wanted. and a 120Hz AMOLED display.

Pretty good bang for the buck.

I'm running an A71 (2020) which is very similar to the A52 by the looks of it. I like it just fine. It was quite an upgrade over the 2017 J7 I was using.

I recall the S series Samsung phones being pretty high end, expensive and unless you have strong opinions why you need one of the fastest ARM CPU's in phones around it was something I could forego.

There is actually some pretty unique apps out there. One of the ones I use that eats in the performance of my phone is 3D anatomy or chemistry programs on the phone.

Sure, my personal needs are pretty spartan. I don't love my phone as a computing device. I'm just a mortal without a mouse. But I know that doesn't project onto a majority of people.

Which is why I try to be specific between a general statement and a specific opinion. I personally can't rationalize the extra cost of a highend phone. Each individual user has to sort that out for themselves. Budget, Need, Want. If you've got a midrange budget, and midrange needs then the A52 may be the way to go. If you've got highend needs, and highend wants, and can push your budget then get a higher end phone and the S20FE may be the way to go.

I'd say the A20 FE overall seems better choice, then A52. I have an A71 5g which has great performance so far. It's just a bit too big to be comfortable but not a dealbreaker for me.

I have Samsung S20 plus, it is a good performance related to battery, graphic, camera, wifi, screen and gaming. Many apps not permanent installed are a big plus. My few con is expensive which is $1200, have many app from Samsung and Google but you can delete it, and theme is not always free.

Decent operating software doesn't exist.

Even if the OEM is relatively fair like OnePlus is, Google and Apple and the Carrier will ♥♥♥♥ it up. They should all be drawn and quartered.

Rooting and xposed are mandatory, of course. And NEVER use a google account.

S20 FE without a doubt, if you don't mind spending that much.
Just know this model (like all of the Galaxy and Note S20/S21 series) will require you to buy a USB Type-C Headphone Jack adapter if you wish to charge and use wired headset at the same time. I just stick to using good BT Headsets for such devices, as for good sound for movies and music I use Headphones w/ 50mm drivers that kick pretty good and supports BT 5.0 + 3.5mm Wired (this is helpful for wired devices such as my Desktop PCs)

I'd second that just stay away from Xiaomi unless you want ALL your life siphoned by the CCP.
Depending where you live 5G isn't setup yet.

Why the hell is there a menu for "chat bots" in the stock SMS app with no way to remove?

Is that for people trying to set up a spam scam or are there really people who banter with their device for fun? Because that's worse than masturbation.

The 2nd reason.

So when the other flag siphones, collects and watches all your data and knows everything about you, that makes it better?
Also why does it even matter? Once you are dead nobody cares and to be even more honest, nobody cares right now even if someone does you will be forgotten and just another number once you are dead like all the millions or billions before us. Well there are alot of psychopaths out there who have gained alot of power so i guess they care in a way. Plus there is the reality of people being on earth for thousands of years and everyone is still born knowing nothing and wanting to become the best, being pampered and having a stress free time while alive so theres some simple human psychology etc.

To think anyone would consider spending 1K for a phone is beyond me. I have some swamp land on the beach in HB, Ca. to sell you. LOL!
