The Difference Between Razer Kraken Pro and Razer Kraken USB Headsets?
I have a question, The Razer Kraken USB is $20 cheaper than the Razer Kraken Pro and it has 7.1 surround and mic which the Razer Kraken Pro does not have 7.1 Surround Sound. Why is this, and does the Kraken USB have drawbacks that I am not seeing compared to the Kraken Pro?

I've also been wondering this, does anyone who has it want to contribute?

The Pro has 4cm drivers with stronger rare-earth magnets & 50mW power.

The usb is 3.2cm driver with 30mW power but appears equal/superior in every other way.

Kraken USB requires USB port, 32mm Drivers, poor Mic, lack of Mic features and control.

Kraken 7.1 is USB, 40mm Drivers, Digital Mic

Kraken Pro is same quality and features as the 7.1 above; but is Analog, not USB

To the OP; you are trying to compare a USB Headset to one that uses Analog Jacks.
If you want USB, then compare the Kraken USB to the Kraken 7.1

USB is good choice for those who can't afford a quality sound card, which is what u want if u want to use an analog headset. USB headsets have their own sound chip and drivers, and do not in anyway use your onboard sound/sound card. USB is also ideal choice for laptop users, as those usually not only lack sound card quality, but jacks as well.

Well guys, just wanted to let all of you guys know that I recently got the Razer Kraken 7.1 Surround Sound USB Headset with the Digital Mic. It's great quality, and well worth the extra $20 from the Kraken Pros. I really like it, mic quality is amazing, the sound quality is also very amazing, and they are very comfortable to wear, even for long periods of time. Overall, if you guys are looking for a new headset, just save up the $100 and get the 7.1 headset.

Yes the extra $20 difference is well worth it. Not a big fan of Razor but I've tried all 3 above in person and if I had to make a choice; the "7.1" or "Pro" would be good ones to get. Just research if not sure, cause u don't want to get Analog if you have a poor sound card.

Even if u buy a different brand, you can still use the Razor Surround Sound app to allow better control and such. Comes in handy for any headset.
