Any News of the GTX 790

I'm a bit confused concerning Nvidia GTX 790 as to if it really is or is not getting released & if so when. I've had a hunt around the net & it just confuses me. Was wondering if any one had an idea. I've seen the Titan Z which is just absolutely insane pricing & bonkers power. Unless you have buckets of money to waste & a 100 inch screen there's no need of it.
I currently have GTX 590 & was hoping to upgrade to 790 if & when it appears.

Why not TITAN Black?

I prefer to go with a dual gpu in all honesty. Titan black in my opinion is a glorified card that shows off nvidia's single gpu power. It's nice but way over priced for what it is. If i was gonna go for that i'd rather take the GTX 780 TI for half the price. I know the Titan Z is dual gpu with the titans power but like i said up top crazy crazy money & too much power for my 26" monitor. GTX 790 will be just right if it ever comes out.

Isn't the GTX 790 a rumored name that turned out to be the Titan Z? I don't think Nvidia will be releasing another 700 series, rather the 800 series later this year.

I'm not sure Stmie. That's why I am confused about the whole situation. I heard some say that the Titan Z was the rumoured GTX 790 under the Titan name. Whether this is true or not i don't know. Yet i thought the Titan Z was more a doubled up Titan black than a 790 under a new name. Be nice is Nvidia could confirm whats what at the moment in the card industry.

GTX 690 = duel GK104
I don't think they will be making another duel GPUs until the Maxwell(GM2xx) releases. If you need the upgrade, you can always do Titan Black SLI without paying the $1000 premium, or 780ti sli with 3gb vram.

Or just go with the r9 295x2

Don't think i got space to do SLI. I'm a lover of great audio too so my sound card takes up that extra SLI space. A Titan black here is practically £1000. Just disgusting price for a single gpu card. I would never fork out that much. The most i've ever payed for a card is roughly just over £500 & that was when i got my 590.

The 690 would be more my choice but it feels silly to upgrade only 1 series to the 600 when the 800 series is on it's way if you are correct.

NVIDIA 800 series is due out between Fall and New Years (in that time period) so if they gonna release a 790 it either coming very soon, or not at all.

I thought the same about the 1 series thing; but going from a 580 to 680 has a decent step when I did that. Now am running 2x 770 4GB in SLI. Improvements with each step, for sure.

I think it's case of pray they do release 790 & soon or keep milking my 590 & hold out for 800 series. If I was a rich man I'd opt for completely new rig along with a Titan Z lol, but as it goes i'm not that man.

well with a jump like that then even going from 590 to an 880 would be worth it, have to wait and see how it does performance-wise, but I think the 590 will have fallen enough down the scale with the 800 series and even a decent high-end single GPU would outperform that. Time will tell...

Yea I think you may be right. If ya gonna make a jump, then you gotta make the jump a significant one when weighing up the expences from present card to new. Time will tell. I hate the waiting game.
