Need help from eyefinity users(no surround)
I changed to amd yesterday so I don't know how different it is from nVidia.

I had my 2 monitors plugged into one card and 1 into the 2nd on my nVidia set up.

Was wondering if you have multiply amd cards do you do the same? Or are ALL monitors connected to ONE monitor.
And I cannot unfortunately max the resolution since my apparently my DVI cable supports only 1920.
So 5760 instead of 7680x1080 :(

I was looking up eyefinity in images all I saw were 6 monitors hooked up to 1 card so I cannot do much with that.

Have a r9 290x will get 2 more in the near future so I am not hauling a piece of sh(I)t around

What monitors (brand + model) are you using?

If your DVI cable is DVI-I "Single Link" then max supported res is 1920x1200

You need DVI-D "Dual Link" cable to support higher res such as 2560x1080

Please review this info if u are un-sure of the differences between DVI cables/specs.

nvidia surround supports bezel correction (adding empty space to allow for monitor bezels)

edit: looks like they did add compensation

Yes I found that out yesterday and I ordered a new cable but my question isn't answered
What question(s) exactly?
Please ask again, as u seem to have alot of jumbled info in the first post.
The AMD support link above should answer questions about connecting multiple displays.
I did not see anything that answers my question

As I said before..... Can I connect one of my three displays to the 2nd video card instead of ALL THREE ON ONE
with 1 r9 290x you cna plug in 3 monitors into it
using dvi/hdmi
You mean the same exact thing I am doing now....?
Not sure if it really matters on AMD.
I mostly see Eyefinity setups with 3x displays running off of 2x Crossfired AMD GPUs.
All displays plugged into the main GPU #1

You really shouldn't have a problem doing 3x displays on a single 290X.
I wouldn't see any point in using 3x 290X GPUs, as the 3rd would pretty much be a waste.

Typically u can do 3x displays on a single GPU such as yours, but since you are using displays above 1920 res, you will need to use DVI-D + HDMI + DisplayPort

I get horrific 40fps on ultra on bf4 with AA off on only 5760 with one
I need at least 3 of them.

My 780's got around 40 while maxing bf4 with AA on so I don't k ow what you are talking about 3 will be a waste.....

a 290x is alot stronger than a 5760
I don't think you should be here if you just posted that

OP meant...

"when running @ 5670x1080 on one GPU"

As far as the FPS u are getting; u did have NVIDIA GPU before, yes?
Then u should remove any old drivers from the old GPU(s).
Then clean install the AMD Catalyst for your current GPU again.

And in games that have a selection for HBAO and HDAO; select HDAO in-game. As it is more suited for AMD GPUs.

I don't quite get what your saying there. Why does the DVI cable matter? It's only running one monitor. So it only needs to carry 1920x1080.
How many monitors do you have, and what is the native res on them? 1920x1080?
If you're just using extended desktop then you can plug them into any card, however if you want to enable eyefinity then they must all be connected to the same card. And for that you need to use Displayport. Your card will have 2 DVI ports and a few Diplayport sockets. If your monitors don't have Displayport, you will need an 'ACTIVE' displayport to DVI adapter, like this one.

Hope that helps :launchpad:

OP is running 3x 2560x1080 displays
Ah that makes sense. So he has 3x2560 monitors.
