When it runs it shows a 15 in the led debug screen in the manual it says pre-memory north bridge init is started. I have also reset the ram.

cpu: i7 4790
graphics card: gtx 770
psu: corsair rm 750
ram: corsair vengeance 1600

I have the 24 pin for motherboard the cpu at the top left i have two for graphics card one for hard drive I dont know what i am doing wrong.

all i can say is it might be your power supply the power may not be enough to power everything

Double check(or even triple check) every connection in the computer.

I'm pretty sure that 750 watts is more than enough to power that PC.

I dont think it is the PSU since it does the same thing if i take out the graphics card and im pretty sure that 750 watt power supply can handle motherboard cpu and fans

I have also double checked everything plenty of times can i take off the cpu even though it is already installed or would i have to clean it than redo it with new thermal paste?

I have done that so many times i have GPU out only using cpu and motherboard power right now with one stick ram and still the same code 15 could it be the ram since its talking about pre-memory?

yes you would make sure you use Arctic Silver ArctiClean Thermal Compound Remover and Surface Cleaner - before reapplying thermo

This error has nothing to do with power supply, it's motherboard issue and seems to happen to Gigabyte motherboards related to their BIOS. Dont know how to fix this though. You could contact their support.

Here's a thread discussing a similar issue. Keep in mind that the memory controller is on the CPU.

http://www.tomshardware.com/answers/id-1956920/gigabyte-sniper-post.html

What is the part number of the RAM? Have you tried booting with no RAM in the motherboard?

Rumpelcrutchskin Jul 2, 2014 @ 10:23am
Yeah, there are several similar threads about various Gigabyte motherboards, different RAM and swapping RAM around has usually no effect, lot of people had to send their boards back because of this issue.

From the same thread:

The problem for me was the CPU itself, error code 15 means "northbridge initialization error" and the northbridge is built into the CPU itsel now-a-days.
I spoke to a Gigabyte engineer in Milton Keynes who said it was either the board (bent pins or faulty socket) or the Chip itself, so I RMA'd the board first, upon testing they sais the board was fine and sent it back to me, so I RMA'd the CPU, hey presto, a faulty memory controller, sent me a replacement and had no faults since.

So can also be either faulty motherboard or faulty CPU.

this is the ram part number: CMZ8GX3M2A1600C9B
and when i boot now ram same error. I have also opened a ticket with gigabyte so i guess waiting a response

I just want to chime in and say that you can use isopropyl alchol(rubbing alcohol) to clean thermal paste from your cpu and heatsink.

I don't see any issues with that RAM and that motherboard/CPU.

double check the mobo standoffs in the case

make sure you only used the ones needed for the mobo

So i got it working about 5 hours ago but had to do some stuff in between and have not got the chance to reply. The issue ended up being a pci express component issue. Its working great now thank you everyone that gave me ideas to help fix it.
