Because for an UW mine is pretty much perfect for me. I wouldn't want a 32:9.
There are the LG45inch models but their resolution is ass. 2k res for that size isn't for me when even my current smaller one has more pixels.
Notice I said PREMIUM; not those 4K TVs that go for under $1000

Here is a C1 review but newer C3 will be even better.

Bad Motha should be fine with my decision including conversion rate 900€ is close enough to a 1000$ :D
I bought the C3. Did a lot of digging and apparently in most aspects it's even better than the newer C4 (Like all Gen.3 things are).
48inch also seems to be the absolute maximum you put on your desk and the 42inch would've actually been more expensive.
Regarding burn in LG also seems to be far ahead of Samsung and Sony atleast according to RTING tests.
Yeah, so I made my choice. If I get my UW sold for 700€ (was 1400€) that'll most likely be an worthwhile upgrade for 200€.
To me, the LG C4 is awesome.
48inch, to me, is almost too big as a monitor but I'm nuts so I still somewhat love it.
The HDR of the C4 is on another level compared to my old Monitor with HDR600 and a peak brightness of 780nits (self measured) and 12 dimming zones.
The absense of edge lighting alone makes even SDR soooo much better.
Right now I run both monitors side by side and the Ultrawide looks like it has grey coating on it especially when in dark scenes but you can also see it in brighter scenes. That's due to the edge lighting that makes everything greyish. There are a lot of details even in SDR you don't see because of that.
For audiophiles a good comparison would be the difference between a noise cancelling headphone to a decent open back. You never realized how much you didn't hear until you did.
The HDR difference in bright scenes is negligeable though. You can see it side by side. But if you showed me 2 images and asked me, I couldn't tell and I wouldn't even say the one is definetly better than the other.
The integrated audio is serviceable but I stick to my small Logitech Soundsystem.
The C4's Options Menu is insane. I spent the whole day tinkering with this TV and barely scratch the surface how everything works and what setting applies when and when does the game mode apply etc.
There's no doubt in my mind that everybody will find their perfect setting with that many options.
Subjectively the 48inch (88% bigger surface area than my 38inch UW) feels very immersive while gaming but not that much more immersive than the Ultrawide. I assume that for me the horizontal space is much more important than the vertical and the horizontal space is only like 20% wider.
If you want to set up the C4 even the 48inch one is heavy. I'm rather on the stronger side and my office/gaming room is a bit small so it wasn't a super easy task to set it up.
If you have to do it alone it's pretty much necessary to pre plan a bit. I improvised every step and it was annoying. But that's also because mid set up I decided I want to run them both side by side for a bit.
Conclusion:
The LG C4 is superior in every aspect and shows how much my 38inch Monitor is still a product in its infancy. Compared the C4 feels like a product that is made to "wow" you in every thing it does.
The only usecase my 38inch is superior is, that with my monitor arm I'm able to put it very close to my face at the perfect height and it almost feels like VR without the annoying headwear.
The C4 is way too heavy for that and also too vertical.
SDR and HDR both look way better on the C4.
The C4 and the UW both cost the same here (Germany) difference being that the C4 will be new and the UW will be used. I don't see any reason beside maybe racing sim setups why you would pick the UW over the C4.
IMPORTANT:
As someone who got rid of his last TV like 15 years ago. The C4 doesn't come with a HDMI cable and it has no Displayport support. So make sure you get a HDMI 2.1 cable.
Extra Info:
DLSS seems to be much better adjusted to 16:9. I spent hundreds of hours with DLDSR/DLSS/FG testing over several games to get the best picture and a feel for those technologies. I think I'm decently profound in them at this point and I'm very sure my 21:9 DLSS results were inferior. Not by a lot and maybe not noticeable to everybody but noticeable to me.
