check with gpuz
if its 100% of the gpu idle clock, that fine
yes it is supposed to boost the mhz up past specs of your card due to gpu boost v3 or whatever version your gpu has it basically overclocks itself depending on factors like temperature headroom
it is also normal for anything that can read your sensors to have a split second of it not detecting the sensor to contact it usually programs would load sensors first then start the interface
just run msi afterburner it wil also install rivastatistics server then open settings in msi afterburner go to monitoring and pick whatever ones you want and click the box show in on screen display this wil cause rivastatistics tuner to startup as its the layer that provides the on screen display
after your done go to on screen display and change the toggle on screen display to any button you like i linked it to the end button you can also enable system time from here
Even with some gpus MSI Afterburner can misread it as what % of the GPU is being used but not the clock speed. One of the reasons is the power saving states.
GPUs tend to idle unless set to the contrary, until a load is put onto it.
The load on the CPU/GPU will then depend on the hardware, the task, and settings related to it. So far this sounds normal.
why dont try taskmanager?
80% load of idle clock is nothing, while 80% load of turbo clock is a huge difference
will also show if the gpu is throttling, and its temps
