New monitor - hdr + HFR via remote play
I have been unable to find a definitive answer so, I thought I would ask you guys. .

I have a Samsung G5 1440p 165hz monitor which supports hdr. This monitor is the same as my laptop screen (without hdr) which I use for remote play. Will I be able to transmit an HDR signal with a high frame rate over the network? Everything is connected via Ethernet at both ends. The laptop will be plugged into a screen which supports HDR 10 @60 fps.

Largely I want the HDR to be transmitted.

Edited spelling.

That's a shame. Thanks for the answer.

if you configure sunshine+moonlight you should have HDR

Does this replace the standard Steam remote play client/host relationship? Or is it run alongside?

replaces it since it's a completely different program. sunshine is the server, moonlight is the client. everything should be plug and play if both are on the same local network. I have not personally tried HDR but I know it's supported. gl

I had to RMA my laptop for a new screen which does 165hz and my new monitor seems to drop hdr when in 165hz mode. It may juat need an update. The monitor arrived today and the laptop returns tomorrow.

So for now I will just be concerning myself with HFR transmission. If I can get a solid 120 on the host then that will be good enough for the client. If I can get the 120 passing over the network it will be a good start.

Update: So I found out that I can do a maximum of 120hz via the steam client for in-house streaming. I will be testing later on.
