Max graphics card for Intel Core i5-3570K ?
What card from GeForce RTX 40xx family should I buy that will not be bottlenecked by this CPU? Or maybe some Radeon?

OS is Windows 11 (using unofficial patch for older CPUs without TPM 2.0), RAM is 16 Gb. Current graphics card is GeForce GTX 1060 3Gb.

Please don't advise me to upgrade the CPU+Mobo+RAM -- I'll do it probably in the first half of 2025.

That CPU will bottleneck any card from Radeon RX 6000 or RX 7000. And even Geforce RTX 4000. Try 1050TI Geforce card maybe

That's slower than my current GTX1060. The only plus is that is has 4 Gb VRAM, not 3 Gb.

GTX 1070 max.

if you upgrade the whole system anyways the bottleneck does not matter = get any card you are able to afford and your psu can power...

I would not think bottleneck by your current system at all because you're going to upgrade everything else later. Rather consider the final build after upgrading rest. As a rule of thumb I'd get the best GPU you can within reason and pair CPU accordingly later.

depends on the game and res
higher fps also takes more cpu

higher res takes more gpu

1060 3g is probably a good match
save up for a new cpu/mobo/ram and gpu, also power supply since newer components are more power hungry too

You could score a used rtx 2060 12gb or like a gtx 1080ti 11gb. Your cpu doesn't support avx2, so a newer gpu won't really make sense, since new games that really need a new gpu (like alan wake 2 for example) might not even launch to begin with.

"Instruction Set Extensions Intel® SSE4.1, Intel® SSE4.2, Intel® AVX"

^^ Intel says your cpu isn't compatible with avx2 so new games won't even start. You might want to start thinking about your next pc and not really worry about gpu right now. By the time your new pc is together, there may be new gpu to choose from, or even i-gpu options.

Congrats. This is as good as it gets

So you do not want to be advised to get a new CPU/motherboard/memory combo.
That is fine.

My advice is therefore not to use the PC for a gaming at all.

None, it's going to bottleneck every recent GPU and the lack of cores and threads will severely limit gaming performance regardless when it comes to recent games.

I wouldn't recommend putting any money into upgrading that machine, just keep on with the 1060 until you can afford to get a much better system and don't waste money on an old machine that's already going to be reaching CPU limits without upgrading the GPU.

pretty much all will bottleneck get the card you want for a new build.if you just want a card
to hold you over a 1080ti for a cheap price would run well with that cpu

RTX3050 probably

a 1050.. is about the best that will run on that cpu perhaps 1050 super

but a 1050ti already us more than ot can handle.

No point really buying a GPU now until after the RTX 50 series comes out. Also no point until you are ready to pull the trigger on a new build since that CPU will be pointless for anything beyond GTX 1070/1080

it will do better.you can pull a nice overclock out of a 3570k you could pull a 3.8-4.0ghz
all core at least
