is there a windows 7 and rikstv compatible browser?

i have an ancient pc too ancient to update to windows 10(sandy bridge cpu). i have to run windows 7 or 8.1 on that. i previously used vivaldi but, that requires windows 11 now. firefox have never worked with rikstv. edge is outdated and no longer works and so is opera. pale moon is not compatible with rikstv. comodo dragon have the same issue. is there any updated windows 7 browsers that works with rikstv?

i can not do so. linux dropped intel support(they do not even respond to mail regarding intel cpus) and the sandy bridge was never compatible with windows 10. trying to install windows 10 on an unsupported cpu is like asking for trouble. i could upgrade my cpu however but, i have no idea where i find an ivy bridge cpu these days.

Linux didn't drop Intel support, no idea where you got that from. You can install and run it just fine on a 30 year old Intel 386 if you wanted to, this hardware is still supported perfectly fine under modern versions of Linux and support for this hardware is not going to be dropped any time soon.

Your hardware will run just fine under Windows 10, you can install the Windows 7 drivers. Windows's primary selling point is this backwards compatibility with software.

linux`s official site actually. sandy bridge is not officially supported by microsoft under windows 10. i got a modern laptop last year however to replace my old laptop but, it broke down. i have been thinking of trying windows 10 on that laptop but, everywhere i look, it says unsupported. i could certainly upgrade my cpu to an ivy bridge, that would solve the compatibility issue but, it have very limited room for harddrives anyway. my main laptop i might update, as that have a haswell cpu. i will not respond to further trolling from you.

There is no such thing as "Linux official site". A guy recently ran Linux on a motherboard from 70's. Pretty sure yours could run Linux too.

As for Win10 and your CPU, when's the last time you tried installing? From Intel Communities, it seems that disabling NX from BIOS fixes the issue. I suggest you try that.

the primary browser... firefox still supports it...
granted they will stop giving it updates after march 2025...
meaning only after that point it gets insecure to run it online....

and yeah I did just call firefox THE primary browser...
I know personally nobody that not uses it.. and certainly not on their oc
I may have seen edge or google on a few very old.. peoples pc's.. or like in a office setting where they not invested in a proper IT team..

but no serious person with a bit of computerskill I know uses it.

on peoples phones.. it is is a different story granted... while still some like me have firefox or something else installed.. one cannot unionstall the google preinstalled on android phones...
meaning even IF you install another broswer.. it never will be the one that automaticly boots if you load a webpage on a phone.. you manually have to open that other browser on a phone.. and copy the webpage adres in there..

Only the ESR release, not mainline. ESR only receives security updates, not feature updates, so it will over time break with some websites as they start using new features it does not support.

had to even google that rikstv.. (despite having friends living in norway and liking it as a holiday place guess I did not watch a lot of tv when there;)).. but ok.. the norwegian paid tv

well aside firefox... the only ones that might still work on windows 7..
(but no idea if they work for rikstv)

are Thorium -> an opensource chromium clone ment to work on windows 7

i have never heard of those. i will give them a shot and report back. thorium have the same issue as edge and vivaldi:something went wrong with the loading of the video. i am trying the other one. that gave me this message: google chrome and firefox is not supported.

I'd recommend trying Supermium (chrome) and R3dfox (firefox), both work well in Win7.

i tried supernium. i was told that it is not supported. rikstv did not even try to load the tv, just told me that it was not supported. same when i tried firefox. i can not install linux on unsupported hardware.

Your hardware definitely suppots Linux.

As for that thing called rikstv, try spoffing your user agent.
