Recommendations for a new PC Tower Case?
I haven’t had a great experience with my 7000X PC case since I’ve had it - when I first bought it, I struggled to fit the cables in the back of the case, which caused a lot of crashes because of tight cables.

I managed to get over that by removing the French doors.

I have also had a flickering issue on my power button since day one, which is annoying.

Ideally I’d like to go for another Corsair case because I liked all my other Corsair cases before this one (especially my 680x), but it’s not a must.

I want a big tower case so that I can fit my big ass 4090 STRIX OC which is also good for airflow, as I mainly plan on using air cooling plus a 420mm AIO. (Just not comfortable with doing custom water cooling myself)

I did see the 9000D which I thought looked pretty great, but I think this is supposed to be for custom water cooling PCs? If so then it’s probably not a good idea to use it for an air cooled build, but please let me know if I’m wrong.

You can use any case as long as it fits

You shouldn't be having crashes because of cables being tight either, only if they get pinched which is pretty difficult to do with a good case

Very, very few cases will comfortably fit Arctic Freezer 420mm on top and you do want it on top to not compromise on case airflow and GPU cooling.

9000D is one of few such exceptions.
You definitely don’t need a custom loop. You will just have enough space for such option.

However, you don’t need a case so humongous and expensive. Fractal Design Meshify 2 XL is huge enough to fit 420mm AIO radiator on top.

What used to happen is the PC would totally freeze, and then I'd have to power it off. Once the french doors were removed, the issue went away.

I'll have a look at that - thanks

agree with the guy above, best case i had was the haf-x with mATX inside.

the case was built like a mini fridge and there was enough room to keep spare parts. nothing handier than having room to quick swap parts.

new thing im gonna try next. i heard phanteks power supplies are a collaboration between them, and seasonic.

how can you not like a case who collaborates with the greatest power supply makers of the century.

ima phanteks fanboy now.

honorable mention noctua.

seasonic/phantek/noctua.

It's a good case but it doesn't support 420mm AIOs and especially on top. Front mounting doesn't matter as it's not optimal anyway.

baring 420mm rads Im glad i kept my coolermaster 922 HAF for all these years......best 25 dollars i have ever spent on a PC case.....3 200mm fans do wonders

420mm rad support isn't a necessity, it doesn't make much of a difference for AIOs when the pump doesn't actually change, it's still the same old generic Asetek or Coolit pumps most of the time that are nowhere near as effective as the pumps you see in a high end custom loop. There also aren't that many options for 420mm rads because they're fairly new and case support for them isn't very extensive.

For the vast majority of users of high end processors, 360mm AIOs are more than adequate.

420mm is almost the same as 360mm but when somebody wants the best and is willing to pay for the top end then 420mm is the best even if by 1%.
Luckily, compatible cases are also some of the best so no compromise there.
And to sweeten the deal the Arctic Freezer 420mm is also an amazing value costing less than some air coolers and few times less than the most expensive AIOs that perform worse.
Currently at shockingly low £72 on amazon UK.

Fractal Design along with Li-Global. Cooler master and Nzext are the recommended by gamer's.

Look at full tower cases. spacious, lots of build options and generally cooler so fans can run slower and quieter.

Mine sits on floor at side of desk, holds more drives than you can shake a stick at and I have usb, sata, sound ports etc. on top front so they are handy without having to bend down to get to them.
