Which 140mm case fan?
I'm looking for some silent 140mm case fans. So far I tried Noctua NF-P14 Redux (they make grinding noise and you can feel it when you touch it), Noctua NF-A14 and NF-A15 (weird humming noise), Arctic P14 PWM(they whine), P14 Max (weird noise at low rm and some whine).

Does the Arctic P14 Argb whine too?

A fan is only truly silent when it is switched off. The act of a rotating fan creates air movement over the blades, which has some sound to it. To reduce fan noise run them at lower speed such as 800RPM maximum - yes it also moves less air, which has an effect on the cooling behaviour.

All fans create some sound - it comes down to the sound signature as to what is acceptable.

Try BeQuiet maybe, they make pretty good fans.

if its making a grinding sound, the fan has a bad bearing (they call it a bearing when its really a bushing)

3pack 140mm pwm fans $12

1700rpm will be loud, but set the fan curve for the headers in bios to max at around 75%

All fans have noise, get be quiet! silent wings if you want fans that are less noisy

Just shop for case fans or CPU fans that has the most CFM and mmH2O with the Low RPM and dB.

My current Arctic F14 fans only make the air moving noise, no grinding, no humming or whine at all. I just wanted ones with more static pressure.

Unfortunately low rpm and db means nothing if the fans humming even at low rpm, it's even more annoying since there's nothing drowning out the noise, most reviews don't even test it.

I can run the Noctua A15 at 180rpm and all I hear is hum-hum-hum, real nice.

high sp is for use on rad or coolers, or with dense air filters, where air needs to be forced through

high af/cfm fan is for open case vents

i have used a bunch of bequiet and uphere fans that are near silent inside a case at 1200 and lower rpm

but even at <500 rpm if its making noise, is a bad bushing and the fan should be replaced before it stops due to the worn bushing or lack of oil

It's brand new man, like I only used it for 2 minutes and packed it to send it back.

If I find silent fans, I will put them on gpu too, since stock gpu fans sound like a refrigerator from day1.

Fans are quieter the slower you spin them. All Noctua fans come with a "low noise adapter", which is just an in-line resistor that reduces the voltage and thus the RPMs, but of course slower spinning means less air flow, so you should consider that when figuring out your cooling needs.

cut hole in wall....put PC on other side....never worry about fan noise.......jk

Or more yet,,, a full Wireless PC. PC in the closet or next room, Wireless Monitor, Wireless Mouse, Wireless Keyboard, Wireless Gamepad, Wireless Speaker and Headphones and so on. Latency? Who cares about it when its so calm and peaceful.
