intermittent freezing: Windows 11 24h2
My pc keeps randomly freezing
Sometimes it runs normally for 6-8 hours
Other times it will freeze multiple times in an hour.
I have run stability tests on every hardware component.

Every time i run SFC it finds corrupt files and it says its fixed them,
Then i run it again and there is more corrupt files.

Asus x470 Tuf, Bios 6232, Chipset Driver 6.10.17.152
Ryzen 5600x
32gb ram
2070
nvme boot drive.

If it started out of nowhere, I would suspect the SSD is to blame, RAM would cause corruption much sooner if there were memory errors
Na Dec 2, 2024 @ 10:14pm
I have run tests on the boot drive and ram.

Did you use those files, or aware about that? Or maybe it just two different problems

Open Task manager, look everything , when does freeze , check which one is 100% usage
Is this freeze than black screen , just hiccup freeze
Na Dec 2, 2024 @ 10:24pm
Cpu and drive usage are normal when it freezes.
It has to be reset by the power button after each freeze.
r.linder Dec 2, 2024 @ 10:26pm
Install Windows 11 on another drive and leave the current SSD out of the system, if the issue can't be replicated after that then you know it's the old boot drive at fault

finding screen freeze is so tedious, you gotta start elmininating the suspect and start with the easiest and the cheapest way, having friend who have PC will be make things much easier
and dont try google, you gonna suspect everything, like chasing a goose
_I_ Dec 3, 2024 @ 3:26am
i would start with update bios, and get the latest drivers from the mobo mfg

watch temps with hwmonitor
if cpu/gpu are going to 90+c then its throttling
check the coolers and fan profiles in bios

I updated the bios and Removed the gpu driver with ddu, still got a freeze.

The only thing that seemed to help is disabling c-states.
ˢᵈˣ FatCat Dec 4, 2024 @ 11:58pm
Lets try every here and there you doing power cycling, like turn off your PSU or plug it cable off,

Disabling C state is like delaying the crash i think

c states determines how the cores throttle and park

he needs the correct mobo, chipset drivers so windows knows how its doing the throttling
Na Dec 5, 2024 @ 12:27am
Chipset drivers are up to date.

dont use windows update for drivers, always get them from the mobo mfg site, and intel/nvidia/amd
Çapgun Dec 5, 2024 @ 2:20am
Run memtest86 and wait little bit. If freeze during test. Suspect ram.
Na Dec 5, 2024 @ 4:15am
I've run memtest86 and the windows memory diagnostic on extended.
