Not all about price/value
People want what performs better and doesn't break the bank, that's Thermalright.
Unless you start gta v and use the mp3 player for your own music then it goes up atleast for me about 20c i reached 88c with it then switch to the game radio stations and bam temps shoot down instantly what a nice power virus xd
What you have to be carefull about is how deep your case is i had to replace my phanteks p400a case for a corsair 4000D simply because the noctua heatsink would prevent me from putting the panel back on
It's overkill for the 3700x, so something mid-range will suffice. Basically anything a little better that the stock cooler, but of course you have to factor in noise level.
If you're going for an X3D then you will need a good cooler and I recommend the D15.
I've had my D15 for almost a decade when I was overclocking an i7 CPU. Noctua sent me the new plate for the AM4 socket for free (keep your proof of purchase!) so it's been good value for me, and I plan on using it for as long as I can. The original Noctua fans are still going strong, too.
Plans have changed and I might be getting the 9800X3D I'm definitely going with noctua if i get that
Why? The temps allready sit in the 60 mark without the eco mode those are 100% acceptable temperatures
The 88c is like i mentioned a known power virus rockstar has not fixed i aint the only one because this temp is higher then any stresstest i done
most things destroy Noctua.....the best option on the market for a tower CPU cooler ironically is a thermalright assassin with Nocutua fans....the 2 fans will cost the same as the assassin, and the package will still be 2C cooler and 30 dollars less then Notua's closest option as a complete CPU cooler....
