your current system.. hopelessly outdated.

of your new set.. wait.. 2 moonths

the logical replacement for your gpu is the 5070 (or the radeon equavalent)
as these are about to release in januari it makes sense to wait for that and get either a much better product or much better price.

that 9800x3d now also has a highly inflated price (selling often for moe than 600 while adviseprice is just 529.... in 2 months you might see prices at or even below that.

to lazy to look into your motherboard specifics right now.. so I presume it to be fine.

one last suggestion I would double that ram to 64gb 2x32 personally.. for a x70 midend rig you want 64gb and ram today is really cheap...
as amd cpu not like all 4 memory slots full.. its better to get 64gb and have enough for years to come.. than to have to toss what you buy now away a few years from now.. as sticking another 32gb alongside really is not a proper option anymore.

How should we know?
How about some infos about personal preferences and games?

if it can play the game you have at settings you like, then keep it as is

only upgrade when you need to
else go ahead and build a new pc every day for the latest and greatest hardware

Wait.. at least until CES / Q1 next year. You'll have much better options available with the 9900X3D and RTX 5090 early next year. The 9800X3D is definitely impressive already, however, with the changes they've made for Zen5 and the 3D V-Cache they've already said their is substantial changes to how the multi-chiplet X3D CPUs will work so the "sweet spot" of the X3D chips may not really be the 9800X3D like it was originally with the 5000 and 7000 series chips. I suspect that the changes will afford them to have both chiplets with 3D V-Cache on the 9900X3D and 9950X3D while keeping core-to-cache latency low.

Your current system is obviously going to play whatever current games at reasonable settings for another few months.

Also when you do look at upgrading skip the X670E board and get an X870 (non-E) board that will have better features for similar or less pricing. You can get an Strix X870-A Gaming Wifi for about $70 more than that MSI X670E board and you'll have PCIe Gen5 and USB4

I would not upgrade anything but the GPU.....at 1440p a 7900GRE or XT not the XTX would be a great upgrade with the current CPU and motherboard......

spend 550 on a new GPU and sell the old one.....you could get a great upgrade for as little as 350 bucks and be fine for the next 2 to 4 years........

not much point in upgrading motherboard CPU and memory without a GPU upgrade......BUT IF YOU do go that route be smart and buy the most current board out there.....agree with the idea of grabbing a 870 mother as it will give you the best options going forward.......

as for me....I have a 5700x on a 570x mother wtih 32gb and a EVGA hybrid 3080....at 1440p i just dont see the need to upgrade....going to keep the current rig for at least 2 years.....current games dont look that great and to be blunt i have a back log of games i could play for the next 4 years without buying anything new.....

with all the solid hardware you already have.me personally i would pull the trigger
on a new m.b ,cpu ,ram and gpu.your current cpu is honestly pretty weak as well
as your gpu if you want a higher end experience.i caution you on the 5000 series as
my Korean buddy has already seen reports/rumors about them being no better than
the 4000 series just less wattage.and the rumors from his sources have been right
for the most part over the years.but like always its a waiting game.

I would just keep what you currently have. Should still easily hold up few more years.
