PCIe riser cable.
I currently use a cooler master riser with their universal vertical mounting kit. Looking at building my first flagship hardline custom loop build in a Lian Li 011d XL.

What I currently have works but would like to move to a longer riser cable for this new case, and one that supports v5 for PCIe to future proof. Basically want the case and accessories to survive multiple, multiple generations, as I generally run my CPUs a long time (still on a 8700k currently.) GPU will get upgraded every other gen (current gigabyte 4080 AIO cooler)

Anyone recommend a good riser cable? I don't agree with longer cable causing slowness, if the cable is built to quality it should not make a difference.

just wait.....nothing is using gen 5 on the GPU side.....if the current one will fit just use it .....when gen 5 really hits go bananas
if it has trouble with the riser using pci-e 5, in bios you can limit pci rev to 4
that may help
I'm afraid there is no future proof for computer hardware.

As for riser, I do not recommend use a longer cable, but like _I_ said you can setup the BIOS to limit the PCIe to version 4 or 3 (Not sure if this correct). Two boards that connected together require good balance signal.

Also, there is no need to upgrade GPU every time they released new GPU. It should lasting 5 years or so.

I jumped from i7-3770K to i9-9900K and from GTX 680 to RTX 4080 Master. This action saved me about $4000.

It shouldn't hurt corporate this much if consumers save more money.

I mean no disrespect, but I do not believe future proof since I owned a first desktop, eMachine, in 2009.
as a salesperson, i love those people tho, their fear are my paycheck
wonder why somebody seems offended by that, lol
So anyway. Nobody knows of a good PCIe 5 riser cable?

Not really. Anything that increasing the cable length then it could affect the way the PCIe 5 behave. Which is why it should be set to pcie 4 version.
