Alternatives to Nvidia?
Are there any good alternatives for videocards besides Nvidia?

Unless you are talking about the very high end cards then sure, AMD has perfectly capable gaming cards. I would stay away from Intel, just not worth it with their garbage drivers that will never be able to catch up or even properly work with older stuff.

AMD surpassed Nvidia years ago.

Nvidia would disagree with a 88% market share.

the intel xe/arc but the drivers for them are very cpu heavy

Drivers are rapidly improving I read, and with 16Gb DDR6 on the A770, good mid range performance, and much better price tag is worth a look.

I do not believe it will be long before they are serious competition to Amd/Nvidia, Nvidia's market share is down to 80% from 87% and Amd's share only climbed from 10% to 12% so it did not all go to them.

AMD has better cards in raw power than nvidia, however nvidia has easier to read software, drivers and features

Why recommend Intel ARC over AMD? Like, really?

Literally their competitor AMD.

I was Nvidia for 20+ years, Jumped to AMD when the 7000 cards came out. The world didn't explode. Alls fine here.

i buy gfx boards by taking a look to their power consumption. i play fhd/1080p and i dont need a fast machine. i can play doom eternal in good quality and my gfx board is a rx6600/8gb, that uses 100 watts maximum. this low power consumption is a technological progression to me. intel-gpu is nothing for me-->too much power consumption and nvidia is a little more expensive with some higher power consumption. i dont know if this has changed. i think another important deal is: "dont believe the hype". i have no dollars for hardware, that sucks power endlessly.
just to mention.
have a nice day.

Quality and popularity are often unrelated.

Why are you doing console wars over your favourite brand of GPU? lol
