I want a good Computer/Laptop to run well on Steam
I'm looking to buy a nice computer or laptop to run on Steam. I'm not looking to pay an arm and a leg for either but one that will allow me to play HalfLife Alyx and games in V. R.

What are your thoughts on these three? The first one is a desktop PC and the second is a laptop. The third is another desktop PC. Your thoughts on all 3 is appreciated.... I believe both the PC's have the option for 64GB ram

CyberPowerPC Gamer Xtreme VR Gaming PC, Intel Core i7-14700F 2.1GHz, GeForce RTX 4060 8GB, 16GB DDR5, 2TB PCIe Gen4 SSD, WiFi Ready & Windows 11 Home (GXiVR8820A3)

Alienware 2024 Newest Aurora R16 Gaming Desktop, Intel i9-13900F, GeForce RTX 4060, 64GB DDR5 RAM, 4TB SSD, 2TB HDD, Wi-Fi 6E, Windows 11 Pro, with Microsoft Office Lifetime License & Gaming Mouse

Alienware Aurora R16 Gaming Desktop PC, Intel 24-core i9-13900F (up to 5.6GHz), GeForce RTX 4070, 64GB DDR5 RAM, 4TB SSD, 2TB HDD, Wifi 6E, 12 USB Ports, Win 11 Pro & Microsoft Office

None of those are laptops, they're all desktops.

Alienware computers are a waste of money, it's just generic Dell junk with the Alienware branding slapped on to justify charging you a hefty premium. The only Alienware products actually worth looking at are their monitors, as the divisions that design and manufacture monitors make some of the best monitors you can buy at a low (Dell) and high (Dell and Alienware) budget.

None of these 3 are particularly good options because 13th and 14th gen desktop chips were subject to manufacturing defects and firmware bugs causing heavy degradation above 65W TDP. Guaranteed you can build a better system for the same price with an AMD processor and get much better performance.

avoid aliendell like the plague
they still use old case design not capable of cooling a modern build, even mid power range

and like r.linder said, find one with an amd cpu for now
intel 13-14th gen are flawed, 12th gen is good, but falling behind

building a pc is not too difficult

if you have a decent desktop, you can use remote play, and stream to your laptop/phone or tv with almost no delay

4070 is a must 4060 with its 8GB vram is only for old games

I would avoid the laptop scenario under every circumstance when it comes to gaming. If your just looking to game and dont have one specific title in mind and you dont have competitive aspirations....then just get a steam deck.

Look at guides on how to build your own. You have much better time.

Example
AMD RYZEN 5800X
NVIDIA GEFORCE 3060 12GB
MSI AMD B550 MPG GAMING PLUS PCIe 4.0 ATX Motherboard
850 Watt power supply- Corsair/Coolermaster/Seasonic

It's easy to build just follow the motheboard booklet.

Avoid Pre-Build and here is the reason you can't upgrade them

There are loads of computer cases I prefer Fractal Design. But make sure it fits an ATX/MICRO-ATX Boards if you with whatever you choose as a motherboard.

Fractal Pop Air White Mid Tower Tempered Glass PC Case. This computer case would make a good purchase as its fit all sizes of Motherboard.

You can upgrade pre-built desktops, they just don't have very good parts to upgrade and half the time they're proprietary so you have to almost change the whole system to upgrade

while im strictly a intel cpu guy i do not recommend 13700 or 13900 processor
stick to 14 series and at least 12gb gpu
the biggest downfall with most prebuilts is crap motherboards ..good luck
