How to remove controller entirely
When i open up the controller settings, i have 2 controllers to choose from, both are called "Xbox One Controller". Only one of the controllers is working (obviously the controller i have connected and i am actively using). The other config is useless, i have no other controller connected and when checking the inputs nothing is recognized as an input. How do i delete this config? It is interfering with my games because it is used as the primary config even though there are no inputs and the controller it is set up for doesn't even exist.

Nothing changed, i tried to fix this for a while now and restarted steam a few times every day and nothing changed so far. This is just the last effort of mine to fix this..... like i said, restarted steam and waited like you recommended, nothing has changed.

where is it showing 2 controller?

When opening the controller menu in the steam settings,at the top of that section it says the controller name, for me it says "Xbox One Controller" (you can rename it). So with no controller connected, it still shows a "Xbox One Controller" config. When i connect the controller, a second page shows up, same name, different settings and layout (my real controller how i configured it in steam).

I want to delete the left one, its interfering with my games because it has priority somehow.

In that settings for Steam; what does it show under Calibration and Advanced?

Is it wired or wireless?

You can unplug the controller and then go into the Registry and wipe all unplugged USB devices out. That should solve this problem.

Ok so i fixed it for me i guess, i started cleaning up the registry from old or hidden devices like you said and found something interesting in the device manager.
Because i have a razer keyboard, there are some "features" that caused the problem.
Apparently WASD can emulate like a analogue controller so the keyboard was listed in both Keyboards and HIDs in the device manager. I uninstalled it in the HID section and now its not showing up in Steam anymore.

I guess that was it, so thanks for your help!
