use a pea sized dot with 212, the bottom is rough and needs more to fill it in
it will be able to float around til it dries
But as said, if the temps are fine under stress dont worry about it.
Guess it could depend on the socket, but eh..
They will only go so far. But you can over-tighten the Motherboard Bracket Mount; so be careful.
EVO and X comes with 2 sets of stand-offs, a set for Intel and a set for AMD; please ensure you use the correct ones. As using the Intel ones on an AMD board the Cooler will not sit tightly in-place on your CPU, as the Intel based stand-offs are physically longer. The fact that you can freely move the Hyper212 heatsink after it's tightly in-place means you used the wrong stand-offs, trust me, done it by accident once on an AMD board. Also the X-shaped bracket that goes in the middle of the heatsink to then lock down on the motherboard mount has a notch on it. Ensure the Heatsink and X-bracket are positioned correctly. When installed correctly, when the motherboard is sitting straight up inside a typical tower case, the heatsink should not be able to slide down; the notch that goes with the X-bracket prevents this when installed correctly.
