Bios boot/boot screen
I was curious about the different boot screens that show based on the motherboard and such, so i got wondering. Is it possible for a knowledgable consumer to change the boot loader on a desktop to, say for example, the gundam launch screen sequence styling from seed/seed destiny?

You can change the boot loadup/animation for Win7; not 8 or 10 though.
Plus OS loads so quick u never see those anymore, so why bother.
I always just set Win7's MSCOFIG to NoGuiBoot; then u never see that WinLogo Animation OS boot screen; and the OS loads faster.

As for BIOS logo screen, depends on Motherboards.
ASUS boards for example have "My Logo" app; basically you can take a customized image, combine that with a BIOS update rom file; then it updates your BIOS to that, and the end result is the BIOS boot logo u made.

So it isn't possible to replace the whole bios boot up with a custom design?

iv only seen a few bios with custom boot logo options

most oem have a custom bios for their boot logo
just set msconfig and change windows boot screen/animation

For OEM Bios, no u can't change it.

For aftermarket u usually can; but again what are you talking about exacting; the BIOS load screen (which is just a logo) or the OS load screen?

Don't like any logos? Set the BIOS to not use Logo (most u can disable it) thus shows text for things like CPU/RAM, etc. upon bootup. Then set MSCONFIG in WinOS to NoGuiBoot to get rid for the OS loading logo.

My idea was to remove the basic logos then have an actual animation during boot similar to anime technology boot ups that show the status instead.

ASUS had software for customer logos on some boards a while back.

What motherboard make and model do you have?

Not had...

For ASUS newer boards that do not offer "ASUS My Logo" app anymore under their downloads, you simply use "ASUS AI Suite" to do this...

Other brands have similar also, just different tool.

My problem is that you all keep saying logo. thats a (mostly) static small image. What i want is something on the whole screen thats more like a video/animation. My board will either be the VII hero, Z170 pro gaming, or a gigabyte

Video and/or Animated GIF are out of the question.
BIOS/UEFI support static image only.

The only way to really still do this is with Win7 OS + Animated Boot Loader App, such as "Win7 BootChanger", which is really just one large scaled image, broken up into frames within the single image, for example one actual image containing many images to make up the "animation" which when used appears to animate.

I have yet to see such app that allows u to change the OS animated boot logo for Win8, 8.1, 10

You also can not really force a delay to allow the OS logo to play out for longer periods; if your OS loads super fast, the animation of the OS boot logo will be rather short, defeating the purpose of changing it.

I finally got around to finding an image to explain what i want better. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6NubZJ2Q7xU It's more so the text than the colored background that id be wanting and the text would be different to show the boot up status. Such as 'Hard drive speed: ....7200 RPM*check*' 'Hard drive health: Optimal' 'Fan status: Running.' just as a sort of system health check each boot. I know that just going into setup/files i couldnt do this if i wanted to link it. I was just wondering if its possible at all, like with a programmer.

Unforntunatly, it's just a video, doesn't hold merit as a means to apply really.

Now u could use a 3rd party GUI for your Linux or WinOS Desktop and add all sorts of customization, etc...

Here is an example of Win10 running LiteStep in-place of Explorer.exe

And there are also apps that companies like StarDock provide for user customization and ease of use. As LiteStep or others like that can be rather complicated.
