questions about upcoming upcoming AMD APUs
I'm planning to upgrade from my 6800k to a newer APU, and I had a few questions:

1. Will the 7890k be the last APU of this generation (pre- Bristol Ridge) and does anyone have a more precise release date than q1 of this year?

2. Is the r7 250 the best GPU capable of dual graphics with the 7xxxK series (7850k, 7870k, 7890k, ect.)? If I get the xfx 4gb version, could I use all 4gb in dual graphics (IDK about the 7xxxK series, but I can only allocate 2GB to my 6800k)?

3. What socket/sockets will the Bristol Ridge apus coming late this year use?

4. I heard Bristol Ridge may not support win7/8. Is this true?

all amd apus are weak cpus
you can use any dedicated gpu with the apu

and hybrid crossfire (dual graphics) is not worth it
only supports weak cards, and can give higher fps, but also drops below what the dedicatd card can do

but imho, the apus gpu is a good match for its cpu
pairing a mid grade gpu with it just shows off how weak the cpu really is

it will not be worth the apu upgrade
what mobo do you have?
7890k will be socket am2+, 6800k is am2
similar sockets, but the board may not support am2+

if the board supports windows 7, the cpu will be fine

if you want a better cpu to run a dedicated gpu, save up for an i3 or pentium g
they are much stronger than the apus, and capable of maxing out mid-higher grade dedicated gpus

ex your apu vs i3 4170 (intel $100 cpu and $40-50 mobo)

I'd suggest waiting for Summit Ridge (Zen FX CPUs) if you want one of the upcoming AMD CPUs. Although we don't yet know the performance, they should be a lot better than anything AMD currently has to offer.

Or if you need a new CPU now, then an Intel i3 or i5 would be a better choice.

As far as I'm aware, the R7 250 is the best card you can run dual graphics with, but honestly you are better off getting a stronger graphics card in the first place and not bothering with dual graphics. If you need a budget GPU, get a GTX 750ti, GTX 950 or R7 370.

i would not wait for zen
amd has been working on it for years, and it still has no official release date
if you want an upgrade now, i3/i5 are your only good optons

Late 2016, thats all we know so far. I only suggested it as an option if they wanted to stick with AMD. Not that it will beat Skylake anyway.

Currently as you say, the only way forward is Intel at the moment. That and a faster dedicated GPU rather than bothering with dual graphics.

It's fm2, but I was planning to upgrade to another MOBO. As for how bad apu's are, IDK why, but I just like the idea of them.

they are the same as most intel cpus almost all of them have a igpu like amds apus but are MUCH faster

Yeah, but I actually want to USE the onboard graphics (probably in dual graphics). From what I've heard, Intel HD is absolute $h!t.

amd onboard gpus are faster, but you are adding a dedicated gpu, why not get a faster cpu at the same price range

thats why you use 1 or more dedicated graphic cards

the apus are a good match for their cpu and gpu
low end cpu with low end gpu

the skylake intel hd is much better than the older ones, catching up to amd apus gpu performance

http://www.notebookcheck.net/Intel-HD-Graphics-530.148358.0.html
http://www.notebookcheck.net/AMD-Radeon-HD-8670D.96575.0.html

neither of which are ideal for gaming alone

but with the apu, when you add a good dedicated gpu, it just shows you how slow the cpu really is

You know you're comparing Intel's NEW iGPU with the iGPU of the APU I'm upgrading FROM, right?

dude just buy a dedicated graphics card if you want to play video games

Some newer games require more than my 6800k. Again, I know it's a bit irrational, but I just like the idea of using an iGPU paired with a dedicated GPU (even if it's not a good one).
_I_ 25 ENE 2016 a las 15:02
if you are getting a dedicated gpu, there is no use for the igpu
