The version of this file is not compatible with the version of Windows you're running. Check your computer's system information to see whether you need an x86 (32-bit) or x64 (64-bit) version of the program, and then contact the software publisher.

My system:
Core i7-3770
Radeon R9-280
Windows 7 64 bit
I remember updating the GPU drivers some days ago. This error is reproduceable, just by clicking the "Search for updates" button in Crimson. So it seems indeed the updater is defect.
Maybe AMD forgot to add Win7 support - anybody with Win 8 or higher reporting this issue?
All I'm saying is it's a glitch on their end, possibly with the installer and security certificate itself.
Due to the security certificate issue and file coding, I can understand if security software and/or the web-browser itself would block it. Things like this do happen, it's not common to be released to the public like that without testing first, but still possible. Some patience is require as they are the ones who have to fix it, nothing much you can do about it.
You've typed this in at least two posts now, and while it 'may' be the case, it is not the 'only' case. My situation, for example.
I do not have or run any antivirus software on my system whatever. Nothing. The message that everyone is suddenly getting about this 'CIMMANIFEST.EXE' not being compatible (not that is malicious or anything of the sort), popped up when I booted my system an hour ago or so. It wasn't present before this.
I've also NOT updated my drivers (or anything else for that matter, *exception below) lately. So, not due to an update, and nothing to do with false positives from virus software here.
The 'only' thing I can confirm that has changed, is that late-ish last night, *I downloaded/installed Blade and Soul. I wonder if any one else having the problem has done the same?
Incidentally, Win 7 Pro here.
Are you able to go to the location (username being your login name):
C:\Users\{username}\AppData\Local\AMD\CN\cimmanifest.exe
Right-click it and open with Notepad or similar text editor.
I will assume it's corrupted due to a failed HTTP GET request or has been injected. If it's corrupted or failed, you should be able to read an error message inside, rather than the file itself (which was meant to be downloaded/copied).
Randomly popped up in Windows 10 x64.
Said something like "C:\Users\{username}\AppData\Local\AMD\CN\cimmanifest.exe is a 32-bit application and cannot properly function. Contact publisher for a 53 bit version"
Don't know this game, but maybe it required the latest GPU drivers and downloaded it.
My driver version is 15.12 - did you check your version ?
That is most unlikely, as the whole installation package is downloaded in one big file and gets automatically integrity checked before unpacking and installing.

I, like many people, ran my PC fine yesterday, booted it up today, and got this error. AMD and/or Microsoft have clearly silently updated something overnight which has broken this part of the AMD software/driver package.
EDIT: Success. The AMD update fixed the problem.
Version is now 15.301.1201-151223a-297971C
Which is related to a security certificate issue... hense the anti-virus blocking or warnings as a side-effect, etc.
If you want the root cause... it's AMD. There you happy?
Core i5 650 / 3.20 GHz
4 GB DDR3 / 664.90 MHz Kingston
AMD Radeon HD 5450
Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit*
Same at the box open, no hardware changes in years. Yes clean it (a clean PC is a happy PC ^^)
Just Yesterday I touch various aspects in the retransmision configurations and no much more... and today, turn on the computer and voilá, error! I hope what resolves with the update of drivers but... I don´t know...
