Randomly keyboard/mouse won't work on boot (Windows 10)
Randomly my keyboard and or mouse won't work on boot. They will both work in the bios, but upon reaching the Windows 10 log in screen, they sometimes do not work. The device appears to have no power (no lights on mouse or keyboard) and doesn't respond to any actions. Unplugging them and plugging them back in or even switching USB ports (even from 3 to 2) doesn't seem to do anything either. I have also updated the drivers of both devices to the newest versions. Generally the only way to fix it is to reboot multiple times, sometimes upto six times which can be quite annoying.

My specs are as follows:
OS: Windows 10 x64 (all updates installed).
CPU: Intel Core i5-4960k at 4.4GHz
MB: MSI Z97 Gaming 5
GFX: Asus Direct CU II 780 SLI
RAM: HyperFX 16GB 1600mhz
HDD: 1 TB Western Digital
SSD: 1TB Samsung 850
PS: 1050W EVGA
Mouse: Logitech G502
Mousepad: Steelseries
Keyboard: Corsair Vengeance K70 (Red Switches)
Headset: Steel Series Siberia V3 Elite
Monitors: Acer XB270HU, Asus VG248QE

Did you do a clean install of the drivers? I had this problem, although in Win7x64 after I upgraded the firmware of my DAChroma.
Had to uninstall and then install the drivers to get the mouse to work on log in screen.

your chipset drivers up to date?
Check your USB hub. Sometimes they don't detect them on boot.

All drivers were freshly installed with no previous version and checking the chipset driver for my motherboard it is the same one I already have. I'm confused as to how I can check my USB hub? Other devices work on it, even on the same ports (such as external HDD) but just not the mouse or keyboard.

And try to get into the BIOS to check if the USB ports are powered

I solved this by doing a clean install so give that a go.

There shouldn't be any USB drivers to install if using USB 2.0 ports, which u should be using for Keyboard/Mouse. Try other USB 2.0 ports.
