Thanks. We dont' need to run a memory test anymore? Windows' version in itself is good enough?
Also, I should be running prime95 and furmark at the same time? Just to clarify.
Thank you.
Anything else I should be looking in to?
LIVE USB stick. It boots itself, no need to install.
Linux Live boot's have Memtest86+ on the GRUB menu also.
A Linux LIVE USB is far better than a Windows app for diagnostics.
Windows also has a standard memory test tool
Start->Search-> "Memory" and run Windows Memory Diagnostic on the next boot.
I use YUMI multiboot USB creator to have a usb with the following
1) Windows 7/10 ISO images
2) Linux Mint/Ubuntu Live/install images
3) Clonezilla
4) StressLinux
Handy to have and check for hardware and driver issues on Windows.
Ye run them both to test ur PSU on the way. and maximum temps when both devices are working.
Most memory app are bootable "linux/dos", so use windows app it's pretty fine.
you can also Download CrystalDiskInfo to check if ur HDD is fine.
http://crystalmark.info/software/CrystalDiskInfo/index-e.html
HDTune for HDD's on Windows.
Cpu-z and HWMonitor for info
no point for HDTune. CrystalDiskInfo / CrystalDiskMark both free.
CPU-Z / GPU-Z/HWMonitor
or you just can use AIDA64.
Those kinds of tests shouldn't change even when you OC or just checking stability with default clocks.
Use all these:
CPUZ, GPUZ, OpenHardwareMonitor, Prime 95 (or IntelBurnTest), FurMark, Unigine Heaven
I always memtest newly purchased memory, don't you?
What about your VRAM, don't you test that? I do.
As soon as I get some kind of random reboot/crashes, I do a memtest. It's usually memory (or power).
I didn't, i never had one problem in last ~15 years =P
maximum > lifetime warranty any way =D.
Well, I would rather check than just wait hoping :) A quick standard test of all memory cells will do. Doesn't take long for piece of mind :) Especially if I buy older type ram (DDR2 for example on older machines which comes with a higher price tag).
Agree, I'm just to lazy =P.
