GTX Titan vs GTX 980Ti
Ahter a little research the 980Ti seems to be slightly out performing the Titan, does the extra 6 gigs of DDR5 warrent the extra cost of the Titan or would it be smarter to save £300 by getting the 980Ti or evan putting 2 980Ti in for not much more than 1 Titan?

Get 980 Ti awesome card

Titan X is more optimized for work and has stock cooler...

If you don't care about cash, get these ones.

Yeah I'm leaning towards a 980Ti, it's going to be primarily a gaming pc I can fart about on the Internet with. If the difference in performance is marginal I'm thinking I may as well save £300. I was wondering how much the extra 6gb of DDR5 impacts things for the Titan. While money is not to much of an issue I'm not going to throw it away needlessly

What GFX do you have now =P ?

Save ur cash for Titan 2016.

New cards are comming from nvidia and AMD

16nm and 14nm =P finally after so many long years =P

My current pc is a store bought £900 tower unit that's a year or 2 old so I'm starting from scratch

I would go with the 980ti personally. It's cheaper and the performance is excellent. Sure the Titan X performs better but in my opinion the extra money for a Titan doesn't justify the performance gain you would get over a 980ti.

The comparisons I've seen between them all seem to agree that the 980Ti has the faster clock speeds and slightly better performance. I'm mainly asking on here to see if the Titan has some hidden trump card that justifys the additional cost

Most 980 ti clocked much higher so they perform better and cost less =].

Titan X and 980 Ti

is kind like 390X and 390.

but titan x has 6gb more vram.

I'd personally wait for Pascal cards if possible but if you must get card now 980Ti has better price/performance ratio.

Nothing .. most games are optimized for 2~4gb of vram(market share).

290x 4gb vs 390x 8gb perfomence gap isn't that big.
