Most 980 ti clocked much higher so they perform better and cost less =].
Titan X and 980 Ti
is kind like 390X and 390.
but titan x has 6gb more vram.

HBM2 = 12~16GB vRAM on next Titan + new 16nm GPU Core.
Nothing .. most games are optimized for 2~4gb of vram(market share).
290x 4gb vs 390x 8gb perfomence gap isn't that big.
You could get holidays in summer too =]. 3 weeks is nothing believe me ...
