Thoughts about MSI 16H5?
I found an MSI 16H5 on Xotic PC for $1200 (link below). It has an i7-4720HQ, 970m w/ 6gb, 16gb ram, and 128gb SSD w/ 1TB 7200rpm hard drive.

It seems pretty cheap for being under 1500, but that could be the 4th Gen i7.

My second question.... is a 6th gen i7 better than a 4th gen i7 for gaming? Will it be better long term?

Anyone have any thoughts about this laptop? Is it a good buy?

Thanks!

The 4th gen i7 is perfectly fine. It doesn't magically suck just because something newer comes out. That laptop has good specs. The SSD can easily be upgraded to something bigger or replace the HDD with a bigger SSD.

Yeah but specs isn't everything. I need good build quality, good keyboard and tracpad too.

What games do you play? I'm assuming you can't use the tracpad with fps's :D
DON'T FORGET the OS, you could save 20$ by getting it somewhere else, but it might just be easier to add windows for the 110$.
laptop looks nice, shop around a bit though, unless you have and you're set on that.

I've been researching for a while now and this laptop seems the best bang for the buck.

Yeah I won't really use the tracpad, but I'd like to have a decent one when I do use it. Tho I need a good keyboard as I will use that a lot.

They generally all not that ♥♥♥♥♥♥. ive only had one tracpad fail on me and it was many years old and understandably waiting to fail. I looked over that site, you can't beat that price. I'd say get it if you truly want a laptop. if not, you could put the 1250~ after tax into a really nice desktop that you won't need to upgrade for quite a while. don't forget VR! If you're interested in that then I'd urge you to reconsider that laptop.
