ddr4 2400 vs 3000
I'm looking at building a new pc and I'm caught between these 2 types of memory. They are:
32GB (2x16GB) DDR4/2400mhz Dual Channel Memory (Corsair Vengeance LPX w/Heat Spreader)
16GB (2x8GB) DDR4/3000mhz Dual Channel Memory (Corsair Vengeance LPX w/Heat Spreader)
I'm building this thing primarily for gaming and want the best performance possible, any help would be appreciated

16GB is plenty. RAM speed doesn't do much for games. Make sure the RAM is supported by which ever mainboard you choose.
What CAS Latency is each kit?

The 2400 may actually be faster due to CL.

@ARMA3 14-16-16-31 for the 2400 and 15-17-17-35 for the 3000

15 for the 16GB kit, and 14 for the 32GB one.
The 3000 is faster then, but only slightly.

The 32gb 2400 one is £114 more expensive than the 16gb 3000 so i thought I may as well save myself a little money if the difference between the two ends up been nominal.

to compare
speed / cl = value (higher = better)
2400 / 14 = 171
3000 / 15 = 200

for ram intensive tasks, it will be about 15% faster

for gaming ram speed makes almost no difference 1-2 fps tops
and quantity over 8g makes no differnce at all unless your running alot of tasks in the background

Take the cheapest one - you won't see difference.

http://www.cyberpowersystem.co.uk/system/TRINITY_XTREME this is the site I'm using to build it. I'm also looking at future proofing as I may end up getting some recording software as well further down the line. Been mainly a console gamer in the past I'm not too up on some of these things and dont want to spend money needlessly

DON'T BUY READY PC -

BUY EVERYTHING BY PARTS, in shops like newegg, Overclockers UK.

Buy from there, like NewEgg but cheaper retailers.

while i could probally put it all together this would be the first pc i've ever built. I'd feel more comforteble getting a custem pre built pc and upgrading over time. Plue the main reason im going with this one is i really like the designe on the Trinity

Custom pre build PC = Over priced crap that just look good.

Build by ur self or check prices of all parts you need and go to some local shop they will help.

i know that if i shopped around and bought everything sepperatly i could get this a lot cheaper but I'm also an idiot and would deffinatly miss out a vital componat or just plane get the wrong thing.

I've got the rest of the specs down how i want them now but i just can't decide on the memory

Take 16GB of 3K Mhz = Less cash.

32GB is to much any way.

16GB = Gaming
32GB = if you are Developer or Designer.
