95% of games out there are GPU-limited. Every single game you play will show an immediate and noticeable benefit with a GPU upgrade. Getting a CPU upgrade will give you a much less noticeable and dramatic boost in performance.
Plus, whatever GPU you but can easily be carried over into your next desktop computer. If you were to get a CPU upgrade, there is a very good chance you'd be investing in a dead-end platform that will already be obsolete when you buy it (especially if you stick with your current AMD platform).

An extreme example ^ of why you should stay with NVidia with amd cpus.
The problem with NVidia is they don't have much choice for you it's either the gtx950 or 960 but if you plan on swapping out your cpu down the road you may as well get the gtx960 if it's in your budget.
What gpu with it ^, settings maxed, res 1080p?
I've never had a problem with halflife engine and still don't see it as cpu intensive by todays standards.
For what it's worth, csgo maxed/1080p on a x4 965be r7 265 gets the 100fps on dust II map, FX8350/r9 280x 200+fps dust II map.
you need a faster cpu not more cores, an i3 or pentium g if on a budget
and it needs a much better gpu
gtx 750/950+ or rx 270/370+
I think it's getting off track, OP has a gt630 with amd dual core cpu looking for 100fps target, GTX970 is considerably a fair step up in price from the gtx960 and 275 to 375fps I just don't see the point.
I bought csgo during the xmas sale basically to see what all the hub bub is about and the incessant urge to have massive fps playing it, tbh it plays just as smooth and responsive be it 100 or 200+fps, besides that I did watch some vids and liked the idea of shooting terrorists in the head so I mostly bought it for that.
GTX 630 - even AMD APU is better.
and wtf do you need 100fps ?
I'm pretty sure if own PC like that, you own 60hz monitor
60hz monitor = 60 fps ( The maximum ur monitor can show )
75hz = 75 fps
120hz = 120 fps
144hz = 144 fps
