And a 120mm cooler is hardly enough for those CPUs if u intend to OC.
I would highly recommend using a 240mm or 280mm one.
EVGA 80+ Bronze 600 watt
MSI GAming 970 Mobo
Also I have friends that have a 120mm double sided water cooler same company and the have fine overclocking intel 4.5 and over
Especially their AMD ones.
As far as Intel users using a 120mm liquid cooler, yes well those CPUs generally have higher max operating temp compared to AMD too.
with that website can i configure my setup to see if it works or did u just upload the stuff u have it set to for others to see
Yeah I validated my stable OC to their site, I wouldnt suggest going with my settings due to not every CPU and MOBO and rest of the system being the same. What I will tell you is in your bios make sure all power saving features are off and slowly raise your speeds small steps at a time, only raise your volts when you need to small increases also and monitor your temps..
ok thanks
NP and Gl man, it takes time to find your sweetspot but after a little bit you'll get the hang of how your system responds to overclocking, as well as you learning the art, but the payoff is well worth it, Just keep in mind to monitor your CPU temps and always take baby steps especially with the voltage.
From my experience with the FX 6100 and 8350 heat wasnt really an issue with my H100 and now H100i extreme until I was in the 4.8ghz range which is a solid oc for both chips but was able to get both chips over 5.0ghz stable , 5.4ghz was my best so far with the 8350 and honestly the only reason on my end to not push more was 1.5+ volts is a bit much more work then the H100's can really tackle, lol, now stability was there but temps were obviously warmer then I like..
Really.
