Thanks anyone else ?
If you need to return or exchange something, Amazon will be better overall for that.
It's human nature.
Most bad reviews are due to people not understand what they purchased to a level they might needed to, like a CPU Liquid Cooler, Motherboard, etc... and so it's more less the user's fault for alot of the issues that do arrise. Yes of course there are going to be instances of faulty or otherwise DOA products, that happens, no matter where u buy.
A lot of items I order from newegg tend to be tied to ShopRunner, so I get free 2Day shipping. I ordered a couple items on the morning of 12/29/15 - both items qualified for ShopRunner.
Having not had any issues before, I didn't follow up with the tracking info they linked me for my UPS package right away. I checked into on 12/30/15 in the early afternoon. The package ship method on the UPS tracking site shows "Ground" as the ship method and not 2Day Air like it should.
I went back through my Invoice and it shows that I did check out with ShopRunner 2Day Shipping. My package should have been delivered today or be out for delivery for today, but sadly it's marked for a delivery date of 1/4/15.
I did Live Chat customer support - nearly 2 hours after I started the chat session, I got to talk to a rep. I told them my issue and they had the audacity to reply with:
"[my name], thank you for holding. Our records show UPS isn't counting New Year’s Eve as a transit day (unless it’s an air package). Your package was shipped out on 12/29 with ShopRunner 2Day shipping, so you should receive the package by 1/4. The package will be delivered on time."
I ended up blasting the rep a bit about the BS comment they just fed me because I work in shipping. I handled packages that were shipped out on 12/29 from my work as next day air and 2day air - the 2day air are scheduled to delivery on 12/31/15. I even pulled up tracking information for the packages I shipped out and they are clearly marked as 2Day Air for the ship method and scheduled for 12/31/15 delivery. I also pulled up my last 2Day ship order from newegg and provided the tracking and pointed out where it shows 2Day Air as the shipmethod and not Ground.
I never did get a response, they didn't reply back after a few minutes. So...
I told them to mark this as poor customer service to feed BS response to their customers. I also told them that my contacting them, all I was looking for was confirmation that they messed up on the shipping method my package left their plant from so they would be aware of it and not some false BS answer. I then thanked the rep for their time and wished them a happy new year.
Other than that, I haven't had any issues with newegg and I've ordered dozens and dozens of items off them over the past 6+ years.
Unless that was specific to a certain shipping method and choice, I don't see why it would have to be "2nd day Air".
For example I can do Neweggs free ground shipping and often get it that quick by ground; if the content is coming from New Jersey (one of Neweggs shipping facilities; aside from their others like CA or TN) as with me being in Maryland. So yea just depends what it is and where it's coming from. And not everything you buy is allowed to be shipped by air. You don't want anything sensitive to ship by air, cause when shipped this way it will endure sub-freezing temperatures (or close to it) which is why things like Compressed Air or other compressed based canisters can't qualify for Air-Shipping methods.
Anyways my point being is that just cause Next Day or 2nd Day, does not mean it would have had to ship by Air (instead of Ground) to reach you in time.
Shipping sent it out ground, hence the delayed delivery time. If it was two day (barring any bad weather issues beyond their control), they get it out to the shipping destiation within 2 days.
If I ship something ground UPS, it's generally 3 to 4 days for me to see it. If I ship it with the free shipping option, it can take upwards of a week before I see it.
UK customer here of Newegg. Never had issues with them.
